ETA NotPosted!2 - DO NOT FEEL BAD. I am a big believer in 'if you can buy the anime you watch, you should.' The operative term here is, however, 'can'. If you are unable to, either due to unavailability or financial situation, as long as you intend to do so when either of those issues become a non-issue (example: The series gets licensed AND released, it turns out you have an insanely rich relative you never knew about who left you their whole inheritance when they kicked it and it's just gotten to you to make you a bajillionare, you know), you should be able to enjoy what you love. I had all of Fruits Basket on illegal fansub for about two years after it got released before I got a new, much better paying job, and was able to buy the release of it.

Oh god... LOL Don't even get me started on verbal tics. I completely forgot... but oddly enough, alot of characters I've liked over the years... (Sakuma Ryuichi/"...na no da", Uzumaki Naruto/"dattebayo", Deidara/"un") have had "vocal tics"! And two of them have unusual "scars"! >.<

It's not what it could have been, maybe, and I don't think it lives up to the OG by itself, but I personally enjoyed it and liked it, so it's not like OG fans can't like any of the Compilation games.

I think the problem is that no matter what you say in this fandom, someone is going to be offended. Praise the Compilation, and the Compilation haters will be annoyed, insult it and the Compilation lovers will be annoyed. Imo, if you've played both the old and the new, you can make your own judgment on whether or not the new is any good. But then, this is the FFVII fandom - calling your opinion dumb and unworthy since 97, after all.

I agree, and I was gonna say the exact same thing--I just started replaying the original game a few years ago, and the way some of the scenes are written in CC parallel that of FFVII itself in terms of Aeris' interaction with Cloud.
