Sorry to hear about that, anon. I concur: they really are annoying and depending on where they are they can be extremely painful! If it's a fairly superficial cyst, it might erupt on it's own, but if it's located a little deeper you might have to see someone to have it lanced- especially if it starts to get larger.

In the meantime you might also want to try a hot compress (if you haven't been doing it already): take a wash cloth and run the tap water as hot as it will go, then wring it out and apply it to the cyst.

I hope it clears up fast!

I get them every now and then on my genitals, they go away after a few days, but the first couple days with hurt just because the skin was stretched rapidly.

-It sounds tiring, but as trite and dumb as it sounds, you are so much more than any flaw or flaws you could point to

-Most people, as I said, have things they don't like about themselves. My fiancee used to be insecure about a big spot on their nose. I think it's the cutest thing in the WORLD. My brother hates his nose; all his friends think it's the perfect nose for his face (I agree!). My best friend agonized over her "mismatched proportions" in high school; they're part of what makes her style and physicality so remarkable. I'm one objectively ugly sonofabitch, but I found glasses that look okay on my big moon face and at least one dork who thinks I'm cute. Attractiveness is subjective as hell.

-You are not ugly, and as little as I know this stupid trite shit actually helps, you can take this as "permission" (in the way Anxiety/Obsessive/Etc Brains sometimes need permission) to not give a shit if you're ugly or not, cuz you're not, and even if you were, who the fuck cares

I feel you, it's tough especially when people put so much focus on it. I always compared myself to other people and found myself coming up short, and tbh sometimes I still find myself doing that. On my best days I'm plain or ok, I guess. But you know what? Fuck it. I've stopped caring. It's hard to do, but once you've got the hang of it it's wonderful.

I may not be beautiful but I'm awesome in dozens of other ways. And I'm willing to bet you are too.

My stupid doctor still hasn't called back, even though I called today. I haven't been able to do anything today because I've been so dizzy that I can't get out of bed without everything spinning. I missed Spanish class, couldn't go to my appointment to get my computer fixed, and couldn't make the ceviche I planned to make tonight.

I have two tests and a presentation tomorrow, and I just want to be graduated already. Just a couple more months, but its feeling more overwhelming than ever. I don't know what I'm gonna do after I graduate. I have no job prospects, no friends, and I am legitimately beginning to think I might be crazy, but once I graduate I won't even have health insurance to try and deal with that.

Oh, don't worry. You and nearly everyone else getting close to graduating University/college. You're not crazy, you're just under a lot of pressure and nearing a pretty significant life change. These are the kinds of things that get to nearly everyone. Hell, I remember thinking I was legitimately going insane a few months before I finished my undergrad.

Try to just concentrate on what you have to do in the proximal. Leave the future out of it for now.

When I graduated I fell back on my job in fast food for a while too and there is no shame in that! I found a job I like more after several months (really like, more than half a year) of searching and I don't regret how things turned out at all.

I bought a brand new book, oversized, lots of glossy photos, and promptly dropped it in a giant rain puddle beside my car. Maybe this isn't a proper rant - it's just me being stupid and clumsy and sad. :'-(

My mother is toxic and verbally/emotionally abusive and I can't take her shit anymore. If I could afford to leave, I would but I have nowhere to go except into a ghetto shithole shelter and they're very dangerous. (I'm unemployed.) I have two younger siblings that refuse to let me live with them even after my mother passes away. I also have 1 close friend in the world that hasn't offered me shelter either (she co-owns her house with her cousin).

I am all alone in the world and in my own family at the age of 40+ and I don't know what to do. No one really cares about me or what will happen to me.

Argh! I have ruined dinner!

Well... to be fair, I don't know if I ruined it necessarily, but it'll be well past dinner by the time it's finished because apparently I fail at reading comprehension. /sigh

Making gumbo. A recipe from Emeril on the Food Network site.

First, the recipe said that darkening my roux should take 20-25 minutes of constant, slow stirring over medium heat. Tried it for 20, 25, 30... finally at 45 minutes it's not quite as 'mahogany' as it should be but, screw it! (I read up on browning a roux... apparently the recipe was way off and 45 min+ is the norm. D'oh)

Then I didn't realize that it needs to simmer for an hour before I put the browned chicken thighs back into the pot and let it simmer another 1 & 1/2 hours.

So, looks like I'm having sandwiches tonight. Hopefully the damn gumbo turns out decents after all this!

On the plus side, I don't have to plan dinner tomorrow.

I may not have any skin left on my right arm below the elbow by tomorrow morning because it itches like fuck. This happens every night to the point where I'm starting to wonder if there's such a thing as very highly localized bedbugs/scabies etc, always on my right arm below the elbow. I have hens who, poor things, get mites/poultry fleas/misc bitey creepy crawlies on occasion, and I have to pick one hen up and put her on the roost with her sisters at night because they're not actually sisters and she's the heaviest breed, and can't make as high as the roost on her own. But I always use both hands/arms to do it, and my left arm is fine. I'm used to the occasional bugbite but I'm about to chew off my right arm at the elbow, here.

Feeling discouraged. I've been working so hard over the years and everyone agrees that my work has really improved, but online sales have taken a nosedive and I've been getting a ton of rejections from juried cons when I never used to.

I also feel like I used to be good at making friends online, but lately I either have to censor myself a great deal and it still seems like when I make polite "Hey, would you like my messenger-of-choice info?" I get dropped.

Fandom used to be a fun social outlet, but lately I can't tell if the fandom hole's gotten more square or I've gotten rounder (heh) and things just don't seem to be fitting.

I thought about taking up LARPing again, but the election has brought out the loudmouths speaking about curing the 'liberal disease' that's infected the games (which means anyone left of teabagger, so moderate conservatives count as part of the liberal infection) and as a queer women I really don't feel safe camping out in the woods alone with people like that. I mean odds are good they're all online bark and no bite, but...

It's just discouraging.
