23. Thank you. That is exactly how I feel about the situation. I don't read much, but it still makes me want to cry when I see so many secrets about Mary Sues and whatnot. It's upsetting that these people feel so ashamed to use their creative freedom to its fullest potential.

I dunno if I'm in the position to talk, considering I nearly did this to my friends over Bleach(They told me to stop obsessing over it). But actually, that gives me some insight here:

You need to tell them why you are upset.

If they are your friends, then they will listen and you can work it out. Fandoms and interests come and go, and you gotta understand that we can't always all share the same interests, or be in the same games (I firmly believe if you aren't interested in a game, you shouldn't play in it because otherwise you're leading people on and making yourself miserable). But if they are your friends, then they will still find the time to talk to you about other things, and be there for you when it counts.

If they can't do that, then you are probably wasting your time with them, and shouldn't feel bad and think 'I should have kept quiet'.

I had to learn the hard way, and it's hard to balance what you wanna do and like with the interests of your friends. But it also goes both ways.

7. I completely understand where LJ is coming from and have been pretty annoyed by all the hubbub springing up, however, I think the secrets situation was pretty silly. Rather than work with the users for a satisfying solution, they nixed an entire post because they don't want to stand with their users.

49. I don't think we can blame it all on the schools. I also blame it on kids that don't want to learn. I worked with kids in college for their writing and they made those mistakes and didn't care. I can point it out to them, but if they're not going to learn from it, that's all on them, not the schools or the teachers.
