I'm in a bit of a bad position - due to circumstances beyond my control, I am being forced into a situation where I am seeing a very right-wing and pro-Trump therapist, where he holds authority over me and I am both expected to listen to him and take his advice. Usually this wouldn't be an issue if I could avoid the subject, but he insists on bringing up politics during every session, even when it's not relevant. He rubbed the election result in my face during our last meeting. I'm not upset by him holding different politics from me - where I live, it's inevitable - but the way he does it makes me genuinely feel trapped and uncomfortable.

My parents think it's good that I'm seeing him, since he's "pushing me out of my comfort zone" with his more aggressive methods, so there's not really any way out of it. I don't think therapy's supposed to make people feel tense and upset, and I don't think it's working, but I can't convince them otherwise.
