53. I just don't understand the appeal of the gender-bending thing. The dynamic between Haruhi and Kyon in canon was interesting. Haruhi wore the pants and took the initiative for most of their interactions, but at the same time was waiting patiently for Kyon to make a move on her. A male Haruhi would just strike me as a misogynistic asshole. And male Mikuru still looks like a woman. And what self respecting guy wears a hair ornament? come on Male Haruhi character designers! There had to be some way to make her recognizable that didn't look that ludicrous.

18. I can see your point, but heterosexuality is the norm. Most people watching a show about heterosexuality aren't going to form opinions on it simply by watching it, because they are heterosexual. People "hate" Gwen because she's an unstable psycho bitch who constantly abuses her boyfriend and has the weirdest most unrealistic reactions to everything ever. I don't even know you and unless you are well on your way to rehab or prison, I know you are not like Gwen.

That is not to say that you do not have an awesome relationship like she does with Jack, and I am so happy for you on that count. Further more, while I don't like what they have done with her character (the cuteness of Out from the Rain aside) anyone who treats you differently because you like her, sucks.

18. I kind of agree with this, if only because I've heard what people think of her - and as a result, associate with bisexuality. They chalk the whole thing up as dramatic, attention whorish faking, her AND her orientation. Which annoys me because bisexuality != wanting everyone all the time.

2. Well, they kind of made it into a British accent. If you watch the pilot for Season One, it's decidedly Indian, and then it gradually devolves into a generic English one afterwards. In some interview- can't remember which- Ramamurthy said he was asked to gradually change Mohinder's accent because the British accent was "more sexy." So much for authenticity, huh?

Ah, frankly, why would this be about "authenticity"? There is no law that Indian people have to speak English with a stereotypical Indian accent. I know enough people who aren't British, but speak English with a British accent instead of their national standard, because - they like it.
