57. Although I was absolutely crushed upon reading the interview with David Shore, slightly humiliated by his bluntness, and thereby slapped across the face, I agree that the response made by a mass of H/W shippers was the wrong response. Bashing other ships to cover up the let-down isn't the most mature way to go (Yet, the whole "war" between ships isn't really that mature either...)

I just wish the interview had never been released; it would've been better for all of us.

Right. Let's forget Shore's insights into why he made the editorial changes at the end of the last season. Let's ignore his comments into how and why the characters change or don't change, or on the reverse logic of using an asshole to explore ethical and moral questions. Let's just erase one of the most in-depth Q&As we've had with the creator, just because a few people can't deal with three freaking sentences.

Lately I feel I am seeing a lot more wank against One Piece in general. I don't know if it's because it has been taken over by Funimation so is back in some form of limelight or if it is just because there seems to be a lot of hate for Shonen in general at the moment around the internet.

Personally I lose respect for anyone that hates One Piece. (Maybe I should have made this a secret because I am most likely going to get flamed.) Oda is my mind has captured a formula to be able to produce the first Shonen series I have ever watched that never bores me and one that I actually really like all the characters. (Even the female ones and that never happens to me with Shonen series.)

Luffy is my favorite Strawhat and I love him to a level that is probably considered stupid by most people so it really irks me when people say they hate him. He is the most positive force in my life and I owe a lot to him.

I think a lot of it is just fandom wank. Luffy is the main character for One Piece so it's probably a case of you hate the fandom you hate Luffy. Now if people claim to love One Piece but hate Luffy that will leave me as baffled as you are.

57 - I just watch that comm for kicks, and that was so funny xD I love those people's logic. So David Shore says he doesn't think they're going to do anything slashy, which shouldn't come as that much as a surprise (Subtext is one thing, but c'mon. It's /FOX/.) Obviously, he is a homophobic asshole who thinks his viewers are idiots.

5. There are no canon pairings in One Piece. DEAL with it. -_- Zoro/Luffy has no more creditability than Sanji/Luffy or Zoro/Sanji in the scheme of things. (And before people go "BUT SUCH AND SUCH HAVE MORE INTERACTION OR WHATEVER" that doesn't mean they'll suddenly turn into canon. :/ In the end, they're just pairings that will probably never happen)
