8) I totally agree. Sure, icons are totally overrated, but if people enjoy making them and people enjoy using them, then who gives a crap? Maybe they get more hype and importance than is really necessary for a 100x100 square of pixels... but I enjoy making them, I know a bunch of people enjoy it, and obviously plenty of people enjoy using them. So, so what?

23) This secret is just plain mean. The first two are amazing iconmakers, and from what I can see, amazingly nice people. There's a reason why their icons are popular, and just because they're popular doesn't mean they're OMG OPPRESSING!!1 the other iconmakers out there. So you, dear secret maker, really need to gtfo yourself, cause that's completely uncalled for and rude.

12. You're entitled not to like it, but isn't wishing it out of existance a little dramatic? There are people, like myself, who consider the game their favorite video game of all time, and yet DON'T look down upon those who disagree.

24. It's my theory that a large majority of secrets are actually more grabs for attention than anything else. People post things that they're not really THAT ashamed of just for the sake of posting secrets.

46. I went to check out Encyclopedia Dramatica because of this secret. You know, for an LJ community that is so terribly mockable, they sure did a bad job of accurately portraying what's wrong with it. I'm disappointed in them.

52. That's not a good argument. TV canons are nearly always heteronormative. TV characters are always straight unless homosexuality is a major gimmick, and they can never be close to members of the opposite sex without romantic/sexual tensions, because TV writers suck that way.

22. I think they work romantically a bit better than Aang and Katara (and CERTAINLY better than Zuko/Mai. Ugh.). Don't get me wrong, Aang and Katara is adorable, with Aang's cute little puppy crush, and while I find Zutara hotter, I'd be happy for Aang if he got the girl he likes. But at the same time, I find Katara's relationship with him a little too maternal for it to work for me. She basically gave him the parental "we're proud of you" speech in "Day of Black Sun."

Either way. Just...please, not Zuko/Mai. Not only is it awful, but it's just a little too neat if everyone gets to pair off like that. I'd rather Zuko alone.


28. Oh man, Neil. Not only are you made of hot, but you basically changed my life. Puck. Oh yeah.

30. Okay, losing on the illegible first part, but I have to mention, I think the top one looks ridiculous. Even back when I really liked manga, I hated the sparkly, over-eyelashed, so-pretty-it's-coming-back-the-other-way-as-ugly type of art. So I kind of prefer the bottom one.


54. I don't ship it, but I think Chase has a kind of guy-crush on House. He's the only one of the ducklings who laughs at his jokes, who tends to accept House for who he is, and who genuinely was upset by the whole leaving thing.


55. Y'know, no, they're not overrated. Because aside from producing ten years worth of great songs and all, they were key players in the changes made to popular music in those ten years. They've gone beyond being musicians to being historical figures. Granted, the Who should probably get as much props.

.37 I could write a whole essay about "could care less" versus "couldn't care less" but the final word is that some people say one, some people say the other, and it's okay. Both are idiomatic, which means that they don't really make literal sense. What's bad is all the wannabe grammar-sticklers who really don't know much about language but like to correct others and sound superior. They need to find something else to care about.

... but "couldn't care less" does make literal sense. Whereas "could care less," in its usual context, makes no sense at all. You can't even write it off as a dialectic thing, like double-negatives. It's not sounding superiour if it's a valid point, whether you agree with it or not.

(Actually, I think that their best music was put out within a couple of years, right after they found their individuality and John and Paul started doing John and Paul songs instead of Beatles songs. Then Yoko appeared on the scene, Paul started writing crap, and everything went to hell. ;_; I'm still upset about it and it happened before I was born!)

If you can't be bothered to check your HTML, I automatically assume you didn't bother to proofread, either. And people who "just don't get it"? There's generators. 8. I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with icons. I enjoy making them. It's just horrible that people won't even give you a chance if you suck at making them. It may be easy for some people, but it's not so for others. I mean really.
