I've a friend who makes adorable little felt turtles out of found felt, embroidery thread and/or material she finds in old craft kits at garage sales and such.

Knife throwing in the UK

Thinking about taking this up, Knife throwing looks like a fun cheap hobby, and I'd like to give it ago.

Trouble is I live in the UK, a country with a long and lovely history with knife crime, so... anyone know anything about the legalities of it? We must have some legal type folks here, right?

Building a gaming computer

I've been having trouble with some newer games either running crappily or not running at all on my computer and that's got me considering building myself a gaming computer. The problem is, I don't know where to start with the components (except that my graphics driver is crap and my monitor is great). So, some advice would be appreciated. Optimally, I'd like to be able to play both newer and older games. And I'm not exactly rich, so i probably can't afford any ultra quality stuff.

Family Remedies for the Sick

I am a pitiful person with a cold. It seems to come in waves, where I think I'm getting better then nope! Sick again. I react badly to cold meds though so I'm just sniffling and drinking lots of tea.

Which brings me to my random thought - does your family have any home remedies for colds or being sick? A friend of mine has a mom that swears by tea and honey. My mom was always the "feed a cold" type of person and would push bread and soup on us.

I'm crazy about a very specific crossover fantasy...

The main worlds in the first generation Spyro the Dragon games are what make up the universe of the Final Fantasy games, where each world (Spira, Ivalice, etc.) is inside of a portal that takes place in a 'main world' (one like Avalar, for example) that hasn't been seen in any of the games themselves. And within that main world, something goes wrong with the dragon magic, and the main party of Final Fantasy XII is forced into the Spira portal, where Sin has returned (like in that awful Final Fantasy X -Will- audio drama) - which is also related to the dragon magic fail problem.

Then Yuna and Ashelia - two leaders in their own rights, go full on badass, with Yuna even ditching the White Mage persona for a Dark Knight one, and shit goes down.
