Semi-beards yay. Give me scruff or goatees or just a nice, smallish amount of hair on there. Full on bushy beards are a no, though.

Cumberbatch is one who needs a beard. He looks hot with one and not hot without one, IMHO.

There might be an edge to racism to the hate, but the majority is because they are the other love interest for pairings that are popular.

I thought Pitbull was black until I saw a picture of him.

Pretty sure that's where it stems from. It's possible reactions are worse than they would've been if the character was white, but I'm not sure.

Okay, liking him is not like excusing Nazis, and yes, that claim is definitely completely different from "I am uncomfortable with how society keeps on inventing faux-Nazi villains to drool over and sexualize" (which seems is more the direction that people here are thinking)

I don't like Rene because he's reckless and thinks he can handle more than he actually can. He annoys the crap out of me. He could be white as snow and I'd still think he's irritating as fuck.

I think I generally prefer them with beards. But shorter, groomed beards or some scruff. But I usually like actors either way. EXCEPT Jeffry Dean Morgan. That is one person who needs a beard.

Unless it is the same people disliking all of those characters, maybe it just happens to be people don't like them as individuals? I adore Diggle. He was my favorite character when I watched Arrow. I don't care one way or the other about Randall's daughters (although I like his wife and father if the picture isn't what you meant by his family). But I disliked Miguel early on because I didn't like that he was set up as a Jack replacement. He is slowly growing on me as more is revealed, but I wouldn't say I like him. Maybe others are similar to me and like/dislike the characters based on reasons other than race?

I honestly can't stand Cumberbatch with a beard. I much prefer him without.

1. Nobody is wholly unprejudiced. That doesn't make everyone *racist*.
2. You're the one expanding this out to "black people." The rest f us were talking g about black rappers.

I enjoyed all three of the books. I wouldn't say they were amazing, but they were fun reads and I'll wind up rereading them. What didn't you like about them?

Completely depends on the guy, for me. Like, I don't tend to be a big fan of full beards, but my boyfriend has one and I think he's super cute, so it really varies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In general, though, I will say a little facial scruff is super hot.

I remember when Marc Broussard's song "Home" was big about ten years or so ago, I kept picturing a black, middle-aged bluesy sort of guy. Clearly, that was not the case :p.

I like that song, by the way.

Some people really wear a beard well, so I'd say sometimes. I miss Charlie Weber's HTGAWM beard, for example.

Yeah I was trying to move away from 'racism' and towards 'prejudice' specifically because it's much more unconscious and more relevant to this situation. But it does seem hard to figure how this would have no relation to prejudice of some kind.

What do you dislike about Feed in particular? I mean, it's not the best zombie novel in the universe, but I wouldn't go as far as to qualify it as Trash (I thought the ending was quite brave of the writer, until she undid it in the next two books that yeah, aren't that great and IMHO have a lot of stuff that shouldn't have been written)

It's not a full on beard, but I liked the scruff thing Wes had going on this season on there.

But I guess it's like Twilight and Fifty Shades and Adam Sandler movies. People will like the crappiest stuff.

Jack was an extremely likeable character; one shown to be (pardon the pun) undyingly loyal to his wife and family, while Miguel tried to downplay and demonize the very act of being married (telling Jack how horrible it will be, constantly complaining about his own wife, trying to get him to join an unofficial sort of boys' club at the golf range, etc).

I did too! That was such a good look for him. And now I'm annoyed again about what happened to him.

I love Randall and the family, especially his wife who's pretty awesome at putting up with his shit :) They are #Relationship goals.
