I felt the same way, honestly. I don't object to the couple, I just thought it was really abrupt and weird and it made me vaguely uncomfortable when they just tossed it in at the end like that, not sure why. I guess I liked the dynamic in the show so much that I preferred it being implied, rather than blatant. Maybe. I dunno, it's tough to put my finger on.

64) It's a really empowering feeling to know that you don't have to read every fic in your fandom, nor do you have to be friends with everyone who might talk to you. Meanwhile having an accepting fandom full of writers of all levels has this wonderful effect of attracting more people to write, which means more chances that you might find a fic to your tastes, and more fun all around.

67) Finding the right formula to excite a crowd is tough. It seems to me it's a matter of giving he audience what they want, in a way they haven't had before. Of course if no one is interested in the fandom, they won't be reading your fic either.

Artemis Fowl secret: don't feel pathetic, those books are honestly amazing.

Twilight bashers: I'm quite fed up with you. Especially the one saying he/she has higher standards than that. Or when you say it's bad fanfiction.
Why do you spend so much time hating on it? It's not a masterpiece, everyone knows it. Of course there are fans who think otherwise but THAT HAPPENS IN EVERY FANDOM. Some of us enjoy these books a lot, and it's not because we think it's the best damn thing in the whole world, we just enjoy it. Why can't you let us do so? What makes YOUR opinion superior to OURs? It doesn't take much courage to post a secret about hating it in a community like this which is definately full of haters. And why do most of you hate it? Because it's popular. It's not the goddamned book's fault. The writer doesn't claim it's the best thing out there. There are many incredible popular things out there which doesn't deserve the fame, and if your "sense of justice is so strong", write about those, and LEAVE US THE FUCK ALONE. If you think hating Twilight makes you a better person than me, or it makes you have better sense of higher literature, I feel sorry for you. I read books because it entertains me and who the hell cares about anything else? You make life sour for yourself, idiots.

No, I'm not one of those rabid Twilight fans. I'm just a normal people liking a book who is pretty fed up with BOTH THE FANDOM and the BASHERS. Honestly? I think it deserves better on both sides.

70 - Personally, I'm watching it on the understanding that there is a plot at some point, and it's not just the level up - fight formula. If turns into Naruto-esque shounen, I'm out of there. Even though I have a soft spot for Kid. But for the time being, I'm genuinely enjoying it.
