70. Sorry, can't agree with you. It's one of the first few series that doesn't make me pissed off (other shows=shipping wars, canon/not canon, etc.).
75. Age shouldn't stop you or anyone else from loving a series. I say, good on you!

12, 14, 17, 42, TB3

[identity profile] lanjelin.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
12: The very strange opinon that a story can only be done once, and that the first telling is always the best, eh? Well, aside from the fact that '90s anime is still largely considered "new" anime; even those stories have already been told many times before, and those character types already exists in even older works. We do tend to idolise the things we watched when we first started, you know.

14: It's not just that they are so bad, it's that they're also so inexplicably popular.

17: I've come to realise that a lot of people online don't actually know what the difference between canon and subtext is. Some of them even thinks it's subjective and something they can decide themselves!

42: HAHAHAHA! But how? Now I'm really curious...

TB3: People famous enough to have a fandom generally know that a part of it will inevitably be insane. Not dismissing thousands of people because of a few crazies is part of being a professional (and also an adult).

Arakawa-san and…who?

29, 33

[identity profile] liltingkricket.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
29. Uh. Well, my opinion probably means nothing --seeing as I was never a big fan of the show, only caught it occasionally and wasn't all that interested in KP 'ships-- but I don't mind that it became canon.

Actually, I didn't even *know* it was canon until I read your secret, and now I'm all irrationally happy~ (Irrational 'cause, yeah, you're right, it makes no freaking sense at all. OH WELL. 8D)

33. Dammit, '08 election. Politicians should NOT be: shippable, sexy, or attractive. It's wrong. Really, I tried so hard not to ship them during that endorsement speech, and it totally didn't work. :'(

(He used to be my senator, too, wth.)

33. ME TOO. That was the very first thought I had when I found out Edwards was supporting him...

(...anyone have links to good fic?)

What's with all the Twilight secrets today?

Oh, and @25: I agree 100%. Don't give up/in!

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 01:03 am (UTC)(link)

73. I blame that particular movie and that actor for a lot of things. It's funny because I honestly don't even really care for the play that much these days, but fucking love Leonard Whiting in that role. Olivia is lovely, as well. Man, now I'm wanting to watch the DVD and just skip around to the emo Romeo parts. Lawl.

[identity profile] x-drear-x.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
09 - Why? Mullets are fucking sexy.

38 - lolwut? I've been in artschool for a year and hardly any of them were what I'd call 'amazing', and I don't have high standards or anything. Otherwise I agree with you on this one.

43 - Hahaa it was that scared rabbit expression and how long his hair had grown that did it for me.

50 - LOL, good question. I think it's the cape.

38. THIS IS NOT A SECRET THIS IS A COMMENT JESUS CHRIST.

48. I LOVE GUMSHOE. IN MY FIT OF LOVE, I MISTYPED THAT AS "GOMSHOW". I LOVE GOMSHOW.

57. NO GIRLS ON INTERNET ANYWAY

75. ARTEMIS, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! YOU'VE CREATED A TIME PARADOX! I know nothing about Artemis Fowl

76. They definitely had it going on, even if Christine kinda was a dead crazy old man.

[identity profile] ladys-girl.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
54. Craig Dean and John Paul McQueen? Their relationship making someone want to be in one sort of baffles me. What was it about their relationship that you liked, OP?

10. Whoa that's freaky. D:
35. lololollllllll I'd pay money to see that!
62. But... it's awesome! No need to be ashamed.
74. The whole fandom isn't like this. Seriously. (And whoa deja vu, you and #10 lol, same background, secrets based on a similar concept.)

tl;dr

[identity profile] rattyfleef.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
28 I totally wrote fic for ff7 back in the stone age when it was first released ^^ The internet was there, I just hadn't discovered its joys yet. Um. I wrote fanfic for 'The Good Earth' when I was 8. I also remember reading one of mum's romance novels and getting cross at it and going off to write it properly myself. Ie more fight scenes XD

32 I'm sorry that happened. Any sort of artist, your enthusiasm is your most precious (though fortunately renewable!) resource. Maybe you just need to take a break, let your brain stock up on stuff? I use fic to 'rest', sorta, between my longer projects. Like training for a marathon and taking occassional breaks for a dip in the pool.

38 Dude, there is no substitute for mule stubbornness. Everybody's got to work.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
Calvin Coolidge

"Genius is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration"
That antipersperant ad

44 not quite relevant, but I feel dreadful for days and days whenever something awful happens to one of my characters. I mourned for a week when Chelova's daughter died, as if it was something somebody else had written.

63
But you only want him for his body, yes?
C'mon, someone would have said it no matter which writer you'd picked!

72 I want to watch this now.

62. You think you're embarrassed? Sealab 2021 gives me the giggles and I just bought the first season boxed set - the print ad for which was, quite rightly, displayed on Ms magazine's "No Comment" page. Between that and the Gene Hunt crush, ISTG my feminist credentials are DEAD.

(Anonymous) 2008-05-18 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
70. IAWTC so hard. My whole f-list loves it, and I can't understand why - Death the Kidd is kind of funny, but the rest of it's completely uninteresting.

77

(Anonymous) 2008-05-18 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
All that stuff is in good fun. They all LOVE Jensen, that "bashing" isn't serious. Jared gets bashed SERIOUSLY all the time. He can never be as talented, as handsome, as nice, as mature, as GODLIKE as Jensen. And when people say that kind of stuff about Jared they're not saying it all in good fun. And since Jensen IS the more popular one I find it ridiculous that you're saying the SPN fandom is uncomfortable to be in if you like Jensen more. You're in the MAJORITY. How can it possibly be uncomfortable?

Re: 77

(Anonymous) 2008-05-19 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
What if you honestly like Jensen's work and feel the ~humor~ displayed by other so-called fans is distasteful and uncalled for? Awkward. :/ I'll tell you, when people imply that he isn't smart enough to go for the roles he ~deserves~ (and some people do very clearly imply this), I just find it offensive. Hell if I'll be lumped together with "fans" like that.

It IS possible to hate him as a person but love 'im as a character yanno. As a character I think he's very interesting, hilarious and him and Neku have good on-screen chemistry but if I met him in real life I'd prolly kick him in the nuts. So, in short, there's nothing wrong with you at all |D

FUCK YEAH ARTEMIS FOWL. I'm still reading it, too. I will never stop crushing on Artemis, no matter how old I get.

7. ... BWHAHAHA. I'm sorry, but if Matt and Trey were catering to the every whim of the South Park fandom, it'd become an anime with nothing but the boys making out for the entire half hour. :P

42. I could see how you could think Roxas was Cloud's son or something, but same person? Naaaah.

04, 23, 57, 64, Not!Secret 3

[identity profile] arcadiaego.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
04: Seconded.

23: Well...that is pretty odd, but I did have the most bizarre unsexy dream last night that my sleeping brain evidently thought was erotic and I am really pretty traumatised by the level of WTF that is clearly going on somewhere in my unconscious. (Dark I can cope with. Plain weird is another matter.) So you have my sympathy. :D

57: Agreed.

64: Having buzzers (or a gong, if you wanted to be old school) in real life would be so brilliant. Second only to having the Monty Python foot come down and squash irritating people.

Not!Secret 3: http://grondfic.livejournal.com/32718.html, although I'm not entirely sure that's what you meant. :-P

50.- LOL. XD I bet they also share other clothes. =P

And by the way, Lelouch is a fine name, but Lulu kills me! That´s a girl´s name! XD
