4. That season finale made me love Gene Hunt more than I ever thought possible. I thought he was a great character in LoM. I didn't think he was hot. During Ashes to Ashes I thought he became sexy. During the last episode of the season I thought he became the most complete character in either of the shows. Surprising, attractive, and real.

I really, really loved him in A2A. I loved him in LoM, but I loved Sam more. Now I watch A2A for him, cos I don't really like the character of Alex. He did grow so much once he was out on his own, but still retained his uniqueness.

Well, this is me being nitpicky, but to some degree, doesn't it though? Don't get me wrong, there are things you have to work for. Skills, expertise... sure. The respect of others, definitely. But talent is a natural aptitude. That's why it's called being gifted. You may work as hard as you can, and there might still someone else out there who's way better at the game. Effortlessly, even.

And that's why, as much as the original secret pissed me off, all I could think to say to the OP was, "Hey, I know it sucks to watch all the younger, more talented people surpass you - hell, they might even be better looking - but deal with it better, man." Saying an entire demographic doesn't deserve their artistic ability is stupid, why doesn't anyone think about the responsibility and expectation that come with being talented?
