142 - One of my roommates this past year had really really bad OCD. While I didn't get along with her very well for most of the time that we lived together, I really know how you feel. It's a really difficult disorder to live with, and while I'm liberal enough to enjoy the occasional joke about it (I can take jokes at the expense of my OWN disorers, so I can't see why others can't do the same to some extent), I agree that it really really isn't "cute" when it interferes with your ability to function like a "normal" person.
But you know, if it really bothers you? I hope you can eventually say something to your Flist about it.

And 143, every time I scroll past, I swear to god I see Allison Hannigan in your secret. WTF my brain.

142. Yeah, I wish more people would understand the difference between harmless quirks and symptoms of a disorder. It's not so cute when you're crying at the sink, washing your hands for the 20th time in the past half hour and your fingers are cracked and bleeding. (I'm saying this from experience - I'm glad it's gotten a lot better since).

160. I don't like the comparison to racism and homophobia, but I agree that furry bashing is fucking stupid. It seems like a harmless kink to me, so I don't care either way. Despite what some people are saying, I've always thought that furriness and bestiality were NOT the same thing (I can see the potential for gray-area, though).

102 - Some of my best friends on LJ are people I initially friended just because I enjoyed their writing. I've found, as a reader, around 9 out of 10 of the writers I friend that way become friends, or at least fandom friends.

Give people feedback for commenting on your stories. Once you get a conversation going about the story, it can expand into a conversation about that fandom in general, or into other areas. You might not win a friend every time, but you might start getting more thoughtful comments on your fics.

116. I'm a Remus/Sirius shipper. It's not that I don't think Remus/Tonks could work, it's that it was handled so badly that I just can't take it seriously at all. Tonks underwent a major change from when we first met her, and Remus never seemed all that thrilled to be getting married to her. It just never clicked for me. =/

I've seen the first one, saw the very beginning of the second and had to leave the room...I don't even know most of the characters' names. In my mind he will always be 'the gay boy.'
