110. Totally sounds like something I'd do

132. …Okay, part of me hates myself for asking, but link me? ([livejournal.com profile] stark_support. That's for you. X])

138. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THAT MOVIE! :OOO ♥

160. Yay!

168. I… I still do. When I watch it. I miss that movie so much. D:

104 - Oooh, I totally understand! I have a favorite character that I do the same with!

118 - How are they hurting you by "overinterpreting" whatever game(s) you're referring to? You have zero obligations to read/hear their fangirling or whatever.

160 - Please don't equate something like racism and homophobia to people hating furries. I know, it's ridiculous that some people go out of their way to bash said people, but they haven't had nearly as bad a time as those of us who have experienced racism and/or homophobia. They have the right to be furries. Same-sex marriage is still illegal in most cases. And I won't even get into the TL;DR about racism...

170 - Don't let a handful of idiots ruin it for you. If I did that, I wouldn't have ever got into watching anime period.

172 - What is it with these "Too Old" secrets? You're never too old to have fun!

170 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-05-29 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I never could lump it all together as anime which helped. But for every good series like Honey and Clover and Mushishi, where there really are just a handful of bad fans, there are 6 series like Bleach and Naruto where the bad/stupid fans outweigh the good.

[identity profile] kyujong.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
118 - Well....I totally didn't see a lamp at first. Fuck ;_;

149 - You certainly will fit in well with Super Junior fandom. Good lord.

172

[identity profile] pana.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You whippersnappers realize that the creators of these series that you love so much are adults, right? And that they in turn are probably also manga fans? It must be shocking to the young'uns, but you can, in fact, be over 18 and enjoy comics.

138. A KISS KISS BANG BANG! Secret! I love you secret maker. I was just watching the movie this morning for the umpteenth time over breakfast. (Yeah, I eat meals in the living room...while sitting on the carpet...with the coffee table doubling as a dining table...What? It's my place.) I love Iron Man as much as the next fangirl, which means alot but Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is part my favorite Robert Downey Jr. movie. The dialog is a hoot and the chemistry between the three leads is a off the chart.

It's slowly and surely getting a cult status lately. I just wished it had been a big enough hit to manage to get a sequel. Because Harry, Gay Perry and Harmony? They are my OT3.

157. Alright, I am getting tired of the Twilight bashing. I didn't even care for the first book let alone the entire series but just as much as it doesn't deserve its fandom, it doesn't deserve its bashing. For Pete's sake, it's a book. It didn't kill your father in Nam. Let it go.

And if you have all that extra time, go read something else. Try Dracula. I am reading it right now after trying and failing to get through the adventures of Bella and the Glittery Undead and, shock of shocks, it's a good, fun vampire read.

161. SCREAM.

karel: (han solo; hay gaiz what's going on)

104. He's a very versatile man ♥ (but when I first saw "everyone," I'll admit, my first thought was "even me? :D;;")

116. That attitude epitomizes one thing that I despise in fandom -- the idea that the first person you fall in love with must be the ONLY person you fall in love with. Otherwise, you're a dirty slut. And clearly the only exception to the rule is if THEY'RE a dirty slut/crazy bitch. There's no such thing as "just not compatible"

118. I lol'd

129. I honestly still don't get why the fuss about it... Sure, it's important, but it's not the defining aspect that makes or breaks a character/person. I mean what.

142. OCD is one of those diseases that once I actually understood what it was (THANK YOU, Psychology class), I felt terrible pity for anyone who suffers from it. It's not funny. It's a physical and psychological compulsion to do things that you know are ridiculous and yet you still have to do them.

156. I've got two FMA t-shirts and about the time that the series became wildly popular, I stopped wearing them. It's embarrassing to have someone run up to you and act as thought you're their best friend (even if you've never seen their face in your life) because you're wearing a t-shirt from a show that they like. I swear I am not making that up, which is the depressing part.

160. Gotta agree with you there. Just because it's not your cuppa or my cuppa doesn't mean it's bad bad wrong wrong or something. At least they're harmless -- it's not like the majority of them go home and rape their dogs or something.

171. People like that annoy me. Fiction =/= reality, bb -- my like of a psycho killer/sociopath =/= my desire to emulate their actions. We're all a little more grown up than that.

174. ): You should have done it anyway! Harrison Ford is the only one on there that I recognize (I'm terrible with faces ^^'), but jeez, I fangirl older guys too! Antonio Banderas? Mrow! No shame in that!

(Coming from someone who isn't much of a Near fan, mind--I just think it's silly to judge someone based on who they're a fan of and tell them they're wrong for it.)

113. But why would you do something like that to a nice girl like Orihime? Gin makes me sadface for the other one in any pairing he's in.

127 ... What canon now?

136. What canons the background image form, and how does it relate to the secret?

137. But, my lady, Raynor returns in the Protoss campaign! Just make it through the Zerg and you're good as gold to go!

142. But it also is a cute and endearing character trait, since it is played for comedy more than for anything serious. If you approve of that, however, is an entirely different question, and a valid one at that.

152. ... But there's no angst or Eternal Night Darqueness to glorify in rainy, mellow english villages. How could any vampire survive without it?!

... On the other hand... a vampire investigator who really just was a fairly normal englishman WOULD be an interesting change of pace.

174. Man you should have done it. Variety would have ensured you'd get lots of attention, me thinks.

130.) I like the show in a B-Movie style way. It's lacking in lots of ways and the Fandom is SCARY SCARY SCARY. They take it WAY too seriously.

133.) I had a friend go on and on and on about Buffy and the awesomeness of Joss Whedon. I gave it a try and I started MST3King some of the supposed "best episodes" of the show. Whedon writes fun popcorn pop culture crap, nothing more. He's not the greatest thing on the face of the planet. He's no genius.

157.) Twilight is shit. But it's hilarious shit. XD; It's fun for the sporking and it's easy to mock. Disco ball vampires, Mary-Sues, nonsense everywhere. Many people like it because it is shit.

116 - I know, right? This is one of my problems with the Buffy fandom. You can love more than one person in your lifetime! Or even at the same time with both people alive.

120 - The chapter with Rachel made me cry. Damnit. (Man there's been a lot of Animorphs secrets lately. At least for such an old fandom.)

138 - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is wonderful. Val Kilmer owned me as Gay Perry. "Look up idiot in the dictionary. You know what you'll find?" "A picture of me?" "No! The definition of the word "idiot"! Which you fucking are!"

153 - The special effects and cinematography in that movie are brilliant. The reviews I read agreed. I don't see the problem with thinking that. Just because it's fairly recent and aimed at families doesn't mean it's not a good movie.

172 - Near is 18 by the end of the series. Plus he's genius with bad social skills.
