Of course it wasn't touched on/developed much... the books are in Harry's POV, he didn't see their friendship/relationship building up and I get the distinct feeling he wouldn't have noticed much even if he WAS around them. No one realized what it was, but when it became popular all of a sudden, people started to annoy me about it. When someone is overly open about their awkward sexual fetish, you're allowed to feel a dislike towards it. There's nothing wrong with furries having interest in their subculture, but they should accept that a majority of people are not going to have an interest in their animal fetish.

I, personally have a problem with people openly telling me about their "furry yiffing adventures" then barking at me like a dog when I try and walk away. It's not the fact that they HAVE a fetish, it's that their community is far too open and pushy about it.
(And before 300 of you blow up on me, I know not all furries are into that; talking about the fetish ones, here.)
