If not, do you want them (this includes adopted or long term foster children as well)? Why or why not?

No, I wouldn't mind being the cool aunt to a friend's kid but you have a child, your life is basically beholden to theirs until you die, give or take.

I'd love kids but I don't think I'd physically be able to have them. Not to mention I'd have to do the whole sperm donor thing, which honestly I'd be too embarrassed to do. So I guess I'm going to die alone and unfulfilled.

I do not ever want to birth kids, but I'm not opposed to raising them. I'd love to be able to foster, but financially I just can't. I always imagined I'd adopt at some point, but it's looking less and less likely the older I get. Which, it is what it is, but still makes me kind of sad when I think about it too much.

I love babies and would foster babies, but I don't like anything between the age of about 2 and 15.

Nope! I help out with my sister's kid occasionally, but I do not want one of my own. I'm a bit forgetful and tend to get bored of things quickly. It was a miracle when I managed to keep my tamagotchi alive for an entire month, my guinea pig ended up being cared for by my mother. Really, you should not put me in charge of something that'll die if I forget to feed it for a few days.

I could see myself adopting in the very distant future when I get steady and stable. I don't know if I wanna go through the whole childbirth thing though.

That is a really unfair question to ask. Most of the named users here are not even allowed to live within 500meters of a school. If they have kids then it means there is an amber alert out somewhere.

No :u My gf has a goddaughter which once we are living together I'm sure I will see more, but not atm. I don't ever want to give birth to children, but my gf might (I'm a lesbian), or maybe one day I'll want to adopt, but at the moment I haven't made up my mind one way or the other.

I've had legitimate nightmares about being pregnant (thank you Alien) so even if I wanted kids I'd probably foster or adopt.

No. Fuck no. My mother was a piece of shit. I had no role model and would be an equally shit mother.

I don't have kids and don't want them. The reason... I want to break the cycle of narcissistic abuse, but I don't believe I can do that by having children. Besides, I'm not terribly interested in having them (though it is possible the abuse thing plays a big part).

No kids, don't want kids. I will be an awesome aunt when my sister has kids, but I do not want kids of my own. And I'd not be a good mother anyway.

Nope. I used to tell people I didn't want to have kids but I'd adopt but I think I was mostly just saying that because I knew people expect women to always want kids.

But really?

I don't want kids. I don't want to have to upend my life for them. I like doing my own stuff my own way. I like not having to share my space with another human being if I don't won't to. I like being able to decide I want to pick up and go somewhere on a weekend and it's no big deal. I realize this makes me selfish probably but I don't care, I freely admit it.

I'm fine with being the 'cool aunt' for my cousin's kid though.

Also I have a dog and a horse, that's enough responsibility-for-other-living-creatures for me. :)

No kids, don't want them. I have a really wicked temper (not violent, but verbally vicious), and while I am getting help for that and the underlying issues, I would really rather not be in a situation where there's any risk of me going off on someone who is dependent on me for care and can't just gtfo.

No. The only kinds of kids that don't irritate me are the two rarest kinds: the ones that are sort of mini-adults (see most characters played by Haley Joel Osment) and the very smart, polite teenager.

I've never longed for kids and I'm horrible at communicating with human beings younger than 10-12-ish. Add to that that I'm aroace and looking at a lifetime of singlehood.

And now I'm in my early thirties and am seriously having to make the decision of going through the entire business of getting an insemination, or entering into a relationship I don't really want just because it'd be less of a hassle than being a single parent. Because yo ho, what if I sit here ten years from now and really regret it?

Nope and nope. I mean maybe I'd think about adopting one, but I definitely don't want to have one. After hearing about childbirth horror and what having a kid does to your body, no thanks. Even though I think mine and my husband's genes are pretty good.

Nope. Was always a bit "Meh" about the idea. I view myself as too old for it now and honestly don't want to subject a child to my genetics and they way society is at the moment.

I would love a cat though.

I have a daughter, she just turned twenty a couple months ago. She's absolutely wonderful and I love her death, but she was enough. Never wanted more than one, and don't care about having any grandkids. She's with me on that right now, so yay.

Nope, and I never want them. It's a moot point, anyway. Got a complete hysterectomy 3 years ago, and even before that it was never a possibility 'cause I'm a lesbian who had endometriosis and P.C.O.S. to begin with, so...yeah. Also, Florida still doesn't allow gay adoption. Not that I'm capable of caring for a kid, anyway. My multitude of physical and mental disabilities means that I couldn't even pick up and carry a kid, much less keep up with all their daily needs. Also, I'm not just a fan of small children in general. They're weird-looking, smelly, loud, high-pitched and always leaking out of at least one orifice. Not for me.

Nope and no. I take STRONGLY after my evil grandmother, and she drove one child to the opposite side of the globe to put the maximum amount of space between them as possible and she did such a number on my mother that she wasn't able to admit Evil Grandma was abusive until she was in her seventies. With that buried-six-feet-under cautionary tale of self-induced misery, bitterness, and resentment, I'm gonna listen to the part of me that's screaming that children will be my doom.
