137. A Dino Crisis secret?!

Who are you because I think I love you.

Wish they'd carry that series on. And I mean from the second game, I'd like to totally forget the third ever happened.

OP of 137

I do enjoy DC 3 but it's just WAY off course from the series.

Why Dylan is a playable character is beyond me. Slight bias towards Regina.

AND MIKEY!! <3

I wish they'd work on DC 4.

16103. I don't like it when people say they're like a character, but I'm humbled by the fact I DO know someone who has philosophies and mannerisms similar to Lavi.

108. Funny, I don't like commenting on (most) BNF's works because my comment will make no difference.

122. I love those too ♥

125. I hate this anime/manga because my favourite singer is obsessed with it and is probably too busy reading it to do any fucking work.

129. Ho-boy that fanart looks ugly

146. That fucking sub series does not exist to me. Kuzco is not Kuzco if he's not voiced by David Spade.

160. Whatever that series is, it looks fuckin' gawesome.

161. srry but Kantarou is in fact THE ONE AND ONLY(♫) and I hate you for betraying him >:T

164. 2nded

168. lol I liked both I guess I have no gender

104. Oh god, did she do that to Maora-chan too? Please don't tell me she did that to Maora-chan.

111. I don't know whether to be amused at anon for blowing it out of proportion or you for feeding it.

129. I hate her work so hard, and I'm not even IN the fandom. (Thank God I just doodle on the side now. My serious artwork isn't cartoony anymore.

130. Capslock comms are one of the most fabulous thing to ever happen to fandom as a whole.

141. LOL I loved that sketch.

146. Disney: The Only Company That Can Completely Screw Themselves Over By Overdoing a Perfectly Good Concept.

154. Much as I love slash, their relationship is where my inner canonazi goes "noplz." As much as I love Edgeworth and Gumshoe's dynamic, I love Gumshoe with Maggey more. Gumshoe doesn't...really strike me as a sexual character, for some reason. (lol I failed mom)

158. D'aaaawwwwwww. (Memories of that show and them bring back warm fuzzies.)

162. LOLWHUT. Ummm, loli = no bewbies, I believe. Don't know where your people are saucing their statements, but they're doing it wrong.

168. Pokemon was my first, actually. Though DBZ just fanned the flames horrendously.

154

[identity profile] halflight007.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, just to clarify, I have no problems with the relationship (just wouldn't personally write it), and that picture is fucking adorable.

118: I love Hisoka because he's a completely insane pervert, and even Killua and Gon couldn't recognise him without his "clown gear". Seeing him like that made me wonder if there's a less loony side to him too (also, he was hot).

133: If many people often misinterpret what you're trying to say, you're probably not expressing yourself very well. Remember, on the internet the text is all we have to go on, so you have to be precise.

144: You know, since a lot of us see sex as (among other things) something beautiful, a way to be very close to someone one cares about, and also as a way to express deep love (yeah, I know it sounds extremely soppy, but I want to make things clear, so no understatements this time), seeing all these secrets where people denounce it as something base, cheapening, or polluting is extremely sad. Why all the bashing? Just because it's not your thing doesn't make it bad or wrong, you know.

157: Sorry, but yes, you'd have to share. XD There aren't a lot of us though (and I prefer him with Sanzo anyway)...

171: DO IT. A lot of people love AU, we're just tired of the badly executed ones.

144 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-05-29 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm all for sex, believe me. I'm a non-virgin in a romantic relationship myself, and I enjoy many fictional romantic relationships I've read about or watched. They just don't do the same thing for me as a fan as platonic relationships do. Fictional romance can be sweet and all, just like a fictional parent-child relationship can be adorable, but only platonic pairings make my heart leap with joy at the thought of them being together forever, if you get my drift. And thus, in principle, when I see very good fictional friends (not in a canonical romantic relationship or very blatantly implied to have romantic feelings for one another), I'm perfectly happy with them being "just" friends and can't help being irritated when the fangirls see endless amounts of subtext where, as far as I can tell, there isn't any.

Sexual relationships don't bother me or anything. I just... really have no drive to want to see romance/sex in a relationship that could be entirely platonic. The bit about strangling and pollution was more of a humourous exaggeration to emphasize how stupidly hypocritical it made me feel to realize that I was really just as crazy about my platonic!OTPs as all those slash fangirls I'd been rolling my eyes over were about their OTPs.

112. Life of Pi FTW!!! Took forever to get through, but was totally worth it.

121. Lots of Doctor Who secrets lately...

[identity profile] iapetusneume.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
157. Goku still doesn't have the fanbase that the others do, but trust me, you wouldn't be alone. I know a lot of devoted Goku fangirls. (I'd personally go for Goku or Gojyo first even though my favorite is Sanzo, because those two wouldn't try to kill me.

...wait, no, I'd go for Homura first.)

168. Fighting animes are awesome, and I've always had a weakness for them. I'm pretty sure DBZ would have drew me in if I had seen it first. (But I still love it.)

Also, one of my best friends got into anime because of DBZ (cool fighting), Gundam Wing (GIANT ROBOTS), and Outlaw Star (...need I say more?). She's only a fan of non-traditional shojo, when it comes to shojo. She is now a fashion designer in NYC. I wouldn't worry!

157 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-05-30 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Homura would still try to kill you 8D (I think? IDK, it's been awhile XD)

I'd go for Goku first, kidnap him, bring him home and cook him all the food he an eat. 8D

101) That's actually pretty cool.
102) So, so, so, so agreed. Too many trolls nowadays, plus people that automatically think English audio = bad.
105) That's weird. I only ship things when they become canon. Is the pairing just badly written?
109) Repeat.
112) It does that to you.
117) It was more innovative because less had come before it.
122) Yeah, have some more originality if you're going to make OCs!
125) Yes, ageist.
133) Maybe.
134) orz that sucks. Everyone has old shame, though. Don't worry about it.
152) No comments suck.
163) If you want to play the game, play it. Don't be scared that it'll make you like something, even if it's something that a lot of people seem to hate.
168) You like what you like. It doesn't make you fail as a girl. Oo;
lol what 3) ...lol what.

(Anonymous) 2008-05-30 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
op, 105 - not badly written, per se, it just didn't live up to the sexual tension. it was just not as interesting in canon as i'd seen it done in fanon, and it was all very meeeeh, and i pretty much associate the whole downfall of the series to this happening. :p

(Anonymous) 2008-05-29 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
125- That's all fucking Aja's fault.

114- Marry me.

[personal profile] karel 2008-05-29 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhh dear... You see that man in my icon? He's pretty much the most badass thing in his game. He canonically stalks a man (who is also pretty badass but not near as much) just to tell him he's getting stronger. He also asks to sleep with (this is what you get for reading the Nintendo translation) a rather effeminate monk. Tell me that's not gay or at least bisexual. 'course, he also kinda hits on his own sister, sooooo

[identity profile] karma-kalisutah.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, lots of good secrets today!

112. Life of Pi! Yes, that is a wonderful, wonderful book. It didn't single-handedly change my life, but it has played a major role in my on-going spiritual development. I don't think "agnostic" means what Martel seems to think it means, though.

115. Sell it on eBay! Does anyone remember how much that curs'd Stitch plushie ended up going for?

116. I wanted Peter to be Claude's Companion. Also, I screamed at the television the first time Sylar went invisible. Damnit, there was so much more that could have been done with those two!

(Or is he not dead? I stopped watching in the middle of the second season...

121. A/S/L? No, just kidding. I completely get that, though.

128. I never got the point of shipping actors. It seems to me that their RL relationships would just pale in comparison to those of their characters. Stick to Doctor/Master; it's more epic AND you won't risk coming off like a lunatic!

131. And I'm the weird kid who's always wanted empathy powers. I'd prefer it if they came with healing shape-shifting abilities like Daine Sarasri's, but I'd take whatever I could get.

148. SIGNED. And it's far too easy to read that scene that way, with Ty Lee looking back and forth between them and having to choose between her best friend and her... whatever Azula was. And then Azula looking and sounding so genuinely HURT, and it of course coming out as anger. And oh man, I must sound like such an idiot shipper, but I felt so awful for both of them.

Although I refuse to believe that it's sunk. It's just badly listing, that's all.

165. Everyone you know, yes. But on the internet, there are places where that sort of thing is par for the course. (http://community.livejournal.com/id_smash_that/385.html) ^_^

lolwhat!2. I'm 99.9% sure that this a troll. The 0.1% of me that isn't sure feels like spamming you with recs for series with kick-ass girls and women in hopes of bringing you to the light side. (Lessee, there's the Leela and Ace eras of Doctor Who, and Revolutionary Girl Utena is awesome even if you don't generally like anime, and... hm... anyone want to help me out here?)

lolwhat!2

(Anonymous) 2008-05-29 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Series with kick-ass girls and women? Well, there's Avatar, Arjuna, just about any Miyazaki movie, Bleach, and a lot of others I can't think of right now. Some video games are Final Fantasy VI (and other installments in the series, but this one immediately jumps into mind), the Phoenix Wright Trilogy, The World Ends With You, and a lot more. There really isn't that much of a shortage; people just need to know where to look.

111. Oh that looks fun.

168. Lmao, a lot of girls were more into DBZ than Sailor Moon.

[identity profile] neon-geisha.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
117. Sadly, I agree. It makes me feel really shallow, but I just prefer newer anime's art style. Glad to see I'm not alone. XD

147. You just made me want to catch up on Reborn!. *ogles*

167. I think it's pretty plausible that Adiane could have given him some of those, and as a previous poster said, Viral seems to be the bitch of all four of the Generals (pretty sure Cytomander beats up Viral in the game, too), so the scars that aren't battle wounds could be from any of them.

168. I got into anime with Sailor Moon, but aside from stuff by Ai Yazawa, I'm pretty ambivalent towards most shoujo now, and I greatly prefer shounen or seinen anime and manga. I also hate 99% of BL, even though I'm a yaoi fan - it's so much more fun to read doujins and fanfic about characters I actually care about from non-BL, shounen/seinen series. Hell, BL manga is just overdramatic, weepy shoujo with buttsex. You don't fail as a girl, don't worry.

[identity profile] mature.livejournal.com 2008-05-29 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)

167. Bwah ha... well of COURSE! That's why I get kinda pissed off when fanart of him pre-timeskip is drawn un-scarred. And yeah... I'm sure a few of those are battle wounds... but not all of them (and yay that still fits my personal fanon perfectly).

... uh yeah... that's all I want to say *goes back into hiding*

It's amazing watching the larger media slowly, with deep astonishment, catch on to the existence of slash on the internet. And half the time assume that most of the writers are male.

I remember a right-wing review for Brokeback Mountain arguing that it would be a flop anyway, because NO ONE other than gay men would want to watch it. Ha ha ha, to the left is the Internet. Enjoy!

FUCKING HATED THAT MOVIE.

My parents forced me to go see it the night before I left for a study abroad in Europe. I was already on the edge of a complete emotional breakdown from nerves, and seeing THAT pushed me over the edge. I had to run out of the theatre and go have a panic attack in the bathroom.

Besides, all the preachy moralism got to me, and I got WAY too much of a "noble savage" vibe from it. Blah. D:

I honestly don't know--I only recently got into the series, so I have no idea what the fandom is like. The main community seems kinda dead besides some icon posts. :/ (Baah, I'm so late.) Shader's one of my favorite characters, though, so I HOPE she gets some love.
