114. I actually really enjoyed the game and all of the characters except for Luke and Tear. Post haircut Luke, anyway. Long hair Luke was amazing and a breath of fresh air from the typical stupid JRPG hero. Which is why it couldn't last, I suppose. Regardless of that, there's still something about the pairing that I just really like, despite not liking either of the characters involved or how the canon relationship was handled. Perhaps they were feeding us subliminal messages. :/

I loved 21 Jump Street -- and while I did feel a little guilty about it at first, now I just think it's funny that he hated it so much. I mean, I love Johnny, and I'm sure it was hellish, but it did jumpstart (unintentional pun) his career. And I have a bit of a problem with male actors who complain about being eye-candy for young girls. Umm, actresses have to put up with that shit all the time. I'm not saying he probably didn't have a basis for complaint -- it just bugs me sometimes that the things that are expected of actresses are seen as particularly degrading when endured by actors.

I can't stand fluffy!Mylar, or OOC non-con!Mylar where Mohinder is nothing but a weepy, submissive victim, for that matter (IC non-con is fine, it's the fact that most of it is OOC that bugs me). It destroys everything that I love about their dynamic. I think that some people just ship them so that they can mold them to fit whatever roles they have a kink for, and those roles tend to fall under "bad boy who turns good thanks to the of the love of a good man", or "Scary predator and his weak, whimpering victim".

102. I agree, if they don’t become canon it’ll just feel… incomplete. Though they’re practically as close to canon as you can get without having it stamped in words already. The not-so-subtle hints have been so staggering in amount that it’s hard to make the “they’re just reeeeally reeeally close man-friends” argument anymore.

Even so, I really want to see them do *something* to make it “official.” Can’t say it’s logical, but it would… make me happy. ^_^- (Especially since I almost never hook on to slash pairings in canon. This is my slash virginity we’re talking about. :P)

130. Well, I don’t think you can look at a “kickass girl” and say “she’s not a girl” either. Or that being soft and demure is “feminine” just because they’re traits strongly associated with girls. Both types are acceptable characteristics for *either* gender.

I get what you’re saying, and I agree – but your wording makes it seem like you don’t think those “not typically feminine” girls are doing something wrong. It’s just that people shouldn’t have such shallow reasons to like a character type, right?

102. ........I'm sure they're going to get more subtext, but whether or not it's going to be "Yeah, he's his most important person" like they do for other couples it to be seen.
I haven't read tons of CLAMP (though I mean to), but I know that they don't always say "dingidingding canon" for all their couples. To go really non-mainstream, Angelic Layer. Kotaro and Misaki don't exactly come out and say those words, and if they don't exactly get together within the manga, but it's still canon. It might turn out to be the same for Kurogane and Fay.
...It's practically canon as it is, anyway.

Most of it doesn't have any real continuity, but Black Hat Guy is always the same arsehole. There was a recent series of strips (look for Journal 1, 2, 3, 4 if you're interested) where he met a girl who was just as much of an arse as he was, with predictable results.
