I should have known when I felt so inspired to write 4,000 words of smut for a mostly dead fandom that my stupid monthly was on the way. But that bitch catches me by surprise every time.

I'm finally writing a fic I've "ehhed" on for a while.

I might get pushback from the "omg you write this so you agree with it!" crowd but fuck it, the fandom is dead, the thing will be portrayed as wrong, and I don't care anymore.

I want to work for a pop culture blog, especially ones that have many articles which center around the comic book world. A blog like CBR, I guess. But I'm too scared to put myseld out there. I'm working on not being a failure at least

I'm almost done with a bingo in hurt/comfort bingo and I just can't bring myself to write the last fic because I keep thinking it will suck.

I'm also almost done with my Yuletide fic. And I should be proud I got started early but all I can think is that I'm afraid to finish it and afraid to send it to a beta.

Yes I do not like to finish things and it's probably at least partly due to perfectionist tendencies.

Anyone else a member? I love the sprint function, I really find it good motivation, especially since you can join the global sprint, you don't necessarily need to have friends on the site to sprint with.

I've been going crazy at work and totally forgot about NaNoWriMo. I'll try and write something tonight and see how it goes.

I have a great setting but I'm stuck with a plot. Why is it that I'm so good at inserting comedy into my fanfic writing, but so shite at doing it in my original stuff? ugh.

I have a few partially written Silmarillion things. But honestly, after seeing Thor Ragnarok yesterday, all I want to do is write porn of that. Hela porn. Hela/everyone porn. Thor/Valkerie porn (and I so did not expect to ship that). Loki/Valkerie porn (and I've never shipped him with anyone).

This movie gave me so many ideas. Some of them even are not porny. I've never written for the MCU other than for a PWP battle at a Land Challenge Community, though. Not sure if I can get the tone write. But damn do I want to write Hela porn.

I'm torn between working on the Elder Scrolls thing I want to write, and jumping into a Mass Effect story.....

And if I go for Mass Effect, I'm torn between a M!Ryder/Reyes thing or else an OC-centric thing set around the whole Archangel business, or else a post-Destroy thing.

Hey, I’ve started a job with a long commute, so I was wondering if I could have some podcast recs? I sometimes zone out, so I’d prefer something that’s more conversational/funny than something with an intense storyline. I already listen to Mbmbam, and I like it a lot. Thanks! :)

Do Go On is good for if you zone out. So is The Morning Stream (though listening to old episodes may not be as interesting). The Roundtable of Gentlemen is good as long as you don't mind that type of humor. Coverville plays covers of songs (usually the podcast has a theme each episode).

Most of mine are movie related - We Hate Movies, Black Men Can't Jump in Hollywood, Double Toasted has ported a lot of their audio reviews to podcast services now.

There's also things like The Allusionist (A day in the life of someone), 1A (Current Events in America), Pod Save America (Politics in America) , Dear Mr. Potter (A HP reread- we're on PoA now).

Completely creeped out right now

I came home from visiting my folks and went to pick up my cat at the vet clinic where he boards when I'm away. We have a good bus service, where I live, but they don't allow any animals on the bus except service animals, even if they're in a carrier, so I call a cab to pick William and me at the vet clinic, like I've done, oh, only just three or four times a year for the past five years.

This time, though, the dispatcher seems weirdly hostile. When I say I'd like to be picked up along with my cat at the vet clinic, he repeats my request in this super-snarky tone. His voice becomes angry and I have a hard time hearing what he's saying, so I ask him to repeat himself, thinking maybe the connection is bad. In answer he tells me several times that I'm being recorded "just so you know," sounding angrier all the time, and then he goes off on a rant that "time is money," apparently because he thinks I'm wasting his time. I can't make out anything he is saying, so I end the call.

But I still have to get home with my cat once I've picked him up, so I call again. Look, I say, I'm a regular customer, your taxi service has picked me up at the vet clinic a dozen or more times. All I want is to get home with my cat.

Suddenly he starts apologizing profusely and says that he's had a bunch of prank calls from people pretending to want a pickup who aren't waiting where they say they'll be, and he thought I was one of them. To my horror he breaks down in what sounds like sobs. I tell him where I'll be waiting with my cat and that I figure on seeing him in half an hour to 45 minutes, which is a fairly typical wait for a cab at busy times hereabouts, since he doesn't seem capable of telling me anything useful.

So I pick up my cat and am waiting for the cab. Thirty, then 45 minutes go by, no cab. I call again to make sure the dispatcher has the address right and he asks me to call him on his personal cell phone instead of the company line. Weird, but okay. I express sympathy for his difficulties but tell him I really need a ride...

...and he asks if he can call me when he gets off his shift.

Completely creeped out, thinking that this is totally inappropriate and that the last thing I want in the world is further contact with this guy, I tell him, "Mister, all I want is to get home with my cat, how soon can I expect a cab?"

Dead silence. I wait a while, but he doesn't say anything else, so finally I hang up. At this point I've called four times and I still don't know when or even if I'm going to get a cab at all.

Eventually a cab does show up, about 75 minutes after my initial call. I'm grateful to see a driver I know, and on the way home I ask what on earth was going on. When I describe my experience with the dispatcher, it turns out that mine isn't the first complaint about him, he's basically incompetent, completely unprofessional. The driver tells me he will let the manager know what happened, and it's clear that this dispatcher's going to be reprimanded if not fired. I'm not about to shed any bitter tears for him either.

Then I realize he's probably going to blame me for getting him fired, AND he knows my number and where I live.

Oh shitshitshitshitshit.
