??? Did you read the second part of my secret? I couldn't stand her being all high and fucked up and my friends going "Girl Mary J is the shit! Who cares she's on that stuff". That's what the hate was all about, especially since my mother was doing the very same shit.

Yet, when she cleaned up, I slowly fell in love with her again once I saw she was serious about it that time (too many instances of my own mother going clean and relapsing). That's why I appreciate her so much now, because she cleaned up and became happy after all those YEARS of being messed up, and I hope my own mother can find that same strength somewhere.
