But time travel? Yeah, not happening.
Which is why when he went into a suspiciously-placed phone booth on the corner of a street in Chicago, he figured it was the Trickster. Again.
And nearly put a wooden stake through an alien's heart.
Actually, he did put it through the alien's heart. Well, one of them.
Since the alien had two hearts.
Which didn't make any sense, because Sam Winchester definitely did not believe in aliens.

"Hello!" the alien said, looking mildly pained, "do you mind taking that out now?"
"What are you?" Sam asked in a low growl, the stake still stuck in the alien's chest.
"What are you?" it asked in response. "I'm a Time Lord by the way."
"A Time Lord." Sam slowly slid the stake out and wiped it off against his jacket.
"Yes. Would you like to go to Russia in 1941?" the Time Lord asked as he straightened his jacket and adjusted his glasses. "The alcohol is to die for! Hold on and..."
And then he was interrupted by a loud gunshot.
"SAM. GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE."
Sam had the good sense to look embarassed as his brother thundered inside, a large shotgun pointed directly ahead.
"You." the shorter man growled towards the Time Lord, "get your dirty-ass hands off my brother! He's my shotgun bitch!"
"Dean!"
"Shut up Sammy." and, with the shotgun still pointed towards the Time Lord, the shorter man pushed the taller man out of the phone booth.

The doctor sighed. Humans were very possessive things.

133) I can relate. My journal's fairly evenly split between RL and fandom-related posts, but most of my RL stuff doesn't begin to match the level of introspection a lot of my Flist's posts do. It all depends what you're comfortable sharing with your public. Your Flist might be able to share more about their real/private lives than you might be, but I don't think that automatically makes you shallow. Or maybe a lot less happens to you worth journaling about than your friends.

109. I hear this so much. It's almost like the new 'in' thing to say.
Truth is some of us just have preferences. I, personally, have no desire to top. Not everyone wants to switch it up. Some of us just like what we like.
But it has nothing to do with our personalities. The one character I play who is sexual is aggressive and more than likely has a more dominating personality than anyone he dates, but he likes the bottom. I don't get why it has to be a sign of submission just because it feels good.

Sure there's people who might like switching. But there's going to be people who don't want to, also. I don't see why making everyone "switch" is more realistic than making everyone top or bottom.
I guess it bothers me even more when people say that gay men who just top or just bottom don't even exist! It boggles my mind why that's becoming the popular opinion, and as someone who is 'uke' it worries me when people think my preference determines my personality.

I think that most of the people questioning why the majority of pairings fall under one tops/one bottoms only are well-aware that there's real gay men out there that do one or the other. However, it's nice to see variety in fandom -- especially without stereotypes based on the whole Seme/Uke thing. It's simply ridiculous to have one character top another just because he's taller, or have one character bottom solely because cried a handful of times in the show. That's my issue with the matter -- and why having characters switch up sometimes injects more realism into things, especially when the author establishes one to be primarily a top or bottom but having them switch every now and then -- without those seme/uke BS stereotypes present.

109. I wish people understand that dynamics of seme and uke doesn't have to be stereotypical either. Because someone bottoms doesn't neccesarily mean that they're submissive. 109 Seriously, these conversations are some of the most bizarre in fandom. I saw some longass thing about topping as a sexual act v. who is in control in the relationship and seriously my eyes glazed over. A LOT of slashers are really interested in power dynamics in relationships, hence the endless chatter about topping, the proliferation of BDSM and dub/non-con, and so they say, the reason they want to write two men rather than a man and a woman. I say? WHATEVER.
