108 - Me, too!

144 - I can't bring myself to re-watch the episodes with her in them either, because she annoys me so much. I don't know if it's because I hate the character and how wrong she is/was for House, or if I just hate Sela Ward. She was one of my mother's favorite characters. We always fight over whether or not to watch the episodes. I always refuse.

And Xavin's gender identity is up in the air, pending how Moore treats Whedon's run. Because Whedon seems to be saying that a skrull's default gender identity can change, depending on the amount of time and effort put into a persona, while the rest of 616 treats skrull gender identity as fixed although the body is mutable. But Moore can (and probably should) retcon Whedon's entire arc, so...

Can I ask if you grew up with BOTP? Because I grew up watching the "other" G-Force on CN in the '90s and sometimes prefer that series (complete with backbeat) to Gatchaman.

Yep, I grew up with BOTP, and I just couldn't wait to see Gatchaman, the more "adult", "mature" version. When I finally saw it, I felt like my childhood had been raped.

I've seen "the other G-Force", and it's a travesty. So much lose! :(

122 deadbrowalking is a good place to start to find other PoC's in fandom. There are also the PoC Carnivals where people talk about race in SF/F and in fandom in general; you can see them linked on that community. They tried to have a PoC panel at con.txt last month but there weren't enough PoC's in attendance to have it driven by them, and instead it became another meeting of white allies (not that that isn't great, but a PoC panel is nice, too) and that's really inspired me to attend the next con.txt even if slash per se isn't my thing.

Oh and by the way: race always matters. I wish it didn't, but plugging your ears, closing your eyes and shouting "la la la" isn't going to make it less true.

135 A friend told me that if I watched DW I'd love me some Mickey and I did just see part of an ep he was in. I'm not surprised people crop him out, though, because I bet he's not seen as one of the "sexy" characters. In this way fans suck.
