114) Hee. I'm the opposite. I usually avoid canons with overt slash pairing (my imagination tends to be much more exciting in showing how it could work than canon), but Torchwood was where I made the exception.

I don't go around saying that... that's why it's a secret. Also, observe how I'm not hating on the show in the secret, I'm hating on the obsessive, rabid fans who can't fathom that someone may not like the show OMG THE HORROR.

By the way, normally I don't talk about TTGL and when asked, I just say "I watched the first episode and it's not my cup of tea" and leave it at that. I have been treated condescendingly for this opinion, and I've had to fight off people who tried to get me to watch it even though I made it obvious that I didn't care for it. But the post was inspired by TTGL fans on various forums and blogs, and specifically one fan who wrote a review for Rahxephon which could be summed up by "reasons why TTGL is superior to Rahxephon and every other mecha anime for that matter." (I'd gladly give you the link but it's a private forum and the language wasn't even English.)

138. I think WindWaker had steadier gameplay. Twilight Princess had the gorgeous graphics, but to make you look at them they worked in about five hours (at least) of riding across the overworld map. So yeah, I think the graphics stunned a lot of people into loving TP as much as they do—and I'm not saying I don't like it, because I loved it—but the story line gameplay was weaker than WW.

...really? Because I was actually sort of put out by how easy they made skipping the overworld map in Twilight Princess. I like riding that horse, dammit, but they made teleporting around WAY too convenient for me to do it and be reasonable.

146. My brother got the last book from a thrift shop right before I left and I read through it again. I forgot how dramatically that book (and that whole series. And most of Coville's series, really) impacted me as a child. I mean, just so. Very. Much. He influenced my views on sci-fi ("So..do you come from a swamp planet?" "Do you come from a swamp planet?"), humanity, teachers, and other things I'd rather not go into. Coville, Roald Dahl, and Gary Larson=large part of why I grew up to be me.

But that series. That series was amazing. That he could take something with such a ridiculous name and turn it into a comment on humanity. Amazing.
