You know, while I do think Kanda's ridiculously hot, it somehow never occurred to me to consider his looks feminine. Very attractive, yes (even Hoshino said he's meant to be beautiful). But feminine? Not in the anime, maybe at the beginning of the manga, but then he just looked very young there. AND THEN HE GREW UP AND ALL BETS ARE OFF *GUH*. Ehhh, sorry ;) Anyways, I'm a bit miffed about the overwhelming number of fanartists who make him look decidedly more girly than he does in canon material.

Hmmm... you know, what's on the left of your secret image a VERY commonly encountered page layout in manga (at least in shounen manga with a lot of charachers). What's on the right is also common, but it's different - it's not a page layout per se, but rather a picture of a heap of photographs.

105. As someone who has been "saved by fandom," let me just say this: I think you've completely missed the point. o.0; It's not about waiting for the next episode. Hell, it's not even about being depressed or "not loving yourself."

I'm actually quite happy with who I am. I admit my life could be way better, but it's not something I'd hang myself over. My fandom prevented me from making a HUGE life-altering mistake. And no, I don't mean suicide. I'm not clinging on my fandom to stay alive.

The mistake would have been going to college for something I hated. That's it. I have the courage to do what I really want, now, because of my fandom.

That's how fandom "saved my life." I don't believe that means I need "help." So kindly STFU. :D

103: I haven't seen that far in the series, but the criticism I've seen of them have been incredibly specific. Just check metafandom or something, and you'll find out exactly why people dislike them.

105: On the other hand, why do you assume that we can't learn things from anime just because it's animation? I've seen several series/read manga that had profound things to say, and made me think about my life and how I live it.

113: From what I've seen, the makers of these pseudo manga don't seem to have grasped what manga is. Mostly they're comics with superficial similarities to manga (pretty much only the character design). There's little to no character development, there are no movement in the pictures, and the page composition is similar to most western comics rather than manga.

I don't see what the problem is with making comics that are inspired by manga. why not do what the Japanese did so long ago? Take what you like in the medium and develop something new with it.

133: When I think of feminine-looking male characters, I typically imagine that guy from "Okane ga nai" or something. Definitely not Kanda. I'd never mistake him for a female character.

One of the best manga I've read in a YEARS has been Dramacon. Drawn by a Canadian!! haha!

143: Pretty secret is pretty. And I don't really understand it either, but that's probably my latent obsessive qualities. It takes me years to grow out of something, and I'm wary of trying entirely new things. (Yes, lame, I know.) Fandom butterflies, I think, tend to be the people with a greater ability to multi-fangirl simultaneously, rather than linearly. :D Not a bad thing—just different.

Thank you :) Yeah, it mostly stemmed out of my really strong attachments to Trinity and Neo, who are my two favorite characters in the trilogy.
