Okay, I'll agree with you on Idina- I've always felt that her acting was sub-par. But Kristen mother-fucking Chenoweth, a bad actor? Are you smoking crack?

And anyway. Tim Burton's good, but he's far from perfect.

125. OMG OMG OMG OMG MY CHILDHOOD! I even had the tapes of the songs and I'd sing along to them all the time. I loved the Freddi Fish games; they were second only to Putt-putt. And I agree with the secret. They shouldn't have named her Freddi and given her such an androgynous voice if they wanted everyone to think she was a girl.

God, I wish I still had those games. ;_;

160. A lot of people dislike them, as I'm sure you've noticed. Just say you'll try them, then wait a while and tell her they aren't your type of book if you think she'll be disappointed you don't like them.

165. Yes! I love relationships that are horribly unstable and doomed. They're so interesting. I'm pretty sure that's the main draw for series like Loveless (unless you're there for the wai wai neko-chan boys) and everything by CLAMP.

167. I hate the tendency for people to add "ie" onto words in general. It's not cute; it's obnoxious.

123. I can't even bear to watch the subbed version, I loved the dub so much. It was my childhood and I feel like I'm betraying it if I watch the sub. But that's just me. Either way, YAY DIGIMON~ =D

126. Plenty of people have mentioned that NPH was Doogie Howser, but he's also on How I Met Your Mother and he's a musical theatre actor. And c'mon, unicorn? Awesome.

143. I'm kinda with you re: Idina - I don't think her acting sucks, but later Elphabas have been better, acting-wise. Check out Julia Murney, for example (see icon) - LOVED her acting in that role. Gonna have to disagree about Kristin, though - she's still my favorite Glinda, and I think she brought a lot more depth to the role than some (or most) others.

125- Freddie the Fish! God I played that game before the internet was a household item. I was, what, 10 or 12?

Anyway, I never realized that Freddie was a girl. I totally thought she was a boy until someone in the game refer Freddie as 'her'.

I actually think they're both pretty good actors (probably KC even more than IM), but while I get where you're coming from, I think a Broadway musical would be a lot less enjoyable with actors who sing off tune than with singers who can't act.

123. The Digimon dubs are my childhood, too, and... really, they're not bad. I enjoy the voices of the characters a LOT. I think they fit extremely well. So much so that some of the Japanese voices actually bother me. But, yeah, no complaints from me in that aspect.

However, the "lull destruction" pisses me off. We don't need jokes every five seconds, people. There CAN be silence, oh man, what a concept. It really takes the edge off of serious moments... which drives me crazy.

But, yeah, even though I would rather watch a sub, I still adore the dubs. They still contain a massive amount of awesome... because it's DIGIMON. 8D

I don't know the specific comm, but in most cases you make up an lj for your character, join the comm, and then make in intro post or whatever (I'd suggest reading through the comm a bit, see how other people have done it), and maintain the character blog like it was, well, the characters. Update on people you've met (in the comm) things you're doing... a bit like constructing a little life for your character.

it makes me sad. i was very surprised when my friend's boyfriend randomly knew they exist and i'm like, "why aren't you my boyfriend..." (in my head though)

i'm pretty sure the words were a weird mixture of "Black Sheep Boy" and "A Glow" its a little blury. i really don't understand why it inspired so much fear in my heart but it did so much.

I've been in a number of musicals over the years, and I actually do agree with you, the acting is just as important (if not more so) than the singing. My church group is a very small performance group, so we occasionally have to have lead characters who can't quite sing--this year when we did Two from Galilee our Jacob/one of the three wise men couldn't sing terribly well, but my God, can he act. And the three people in the play everyone loved the best? He was one of them for his superior acting. (Okay, yes, the other two were the kid who played Joseph (a friend of mine who can SING) and the kid who played Mary (uh...me) because we can both act and sing well, but still.)

And I know plenty of people who not only think they could do better than a Tony Award-winning actress, but actually COULD do better. (As long as you're not talking about Angela Lansbury. NOBODY beats Angela Lansbury. )

Or Patti. Nobody beats Pattie either.

104 - LAURA MICHELLE KELLY IS AMAZING. Such stage presence, and wow, what a voice! ("Lothlorien" is made a hundred times more gorgeous with her.) Althought I still have a soft spot in my heart for Cate Blanchett, because dude, she scared the crap out of my eighth-grade-self with the whole turning-greenish-blue-and-shaking stunt in FOTR. The musical is MAJOR love, though. I don't get the haters.
