166. I usually like dubs. I felt similar to what you're when the Lucky Star dub cast was announced, and there was epic complaints and cries of "LET'S BOYCOT THE DUB!!1", because I totally loved the trailer. I don't mind most of the cast for Host Club either.
But I really am not looking forward to the dub simply because I think Vic was a weak choice for Tamaki. After hearing him do a shitty job being flamboyant Fai in Tsubasa, and all the bullshit he spreads at cons about those darn yaoi fangirls "twisting relationships" in the wrong way, it's almost enough to make me not want to buy it at all.

I'm sorry if it's making you feel outcast, but I'd still give the fandom a try. They're typically a nice bunch of fans, from what I've seen. (But I'm pretty shy in fandoms too. xD;)

109 Everyone else already said this, but I'm just going to say it again. Copyright issues. That, and I found 'The World Ends with You' a better title than 'It's a Wonderful World'. The former summarizes the game way better than the latter. Yes, the TWEWY fandom is filled with some icky fanbrats, but the game itself is brilliant. It's fun, original, and the characters are just a joy to watch. Plus, it makes for great one-liners.

166 I never really realized how much Vic hate there was until after reading all those comments >___> Well, for one thing, I believe his constant anti-yaoi statements stemmed from his religion and frustration from early FMA days where fangirls kept sending him yaoi fanworks in spite of his beliefs (repeated cries of 'ROY'S DEAD SEXY IN A MINYSKIRT!' anyone?). Vic's a devout Christian, so of course he wouldn't be too big on the Yaoi aspect of anime anyways (the first person who starts a religion war with this will be SHOT) Personally, I like him. He hasn't done anything to annoy me and, yes, I am a slash fan. Although he does lack a wide range (you can argue the same for other famous VAs), he is still very talented. For example, Junpei from the dubbed Persona 3 is arguably one of the best voices in the whole game, and for me personally, Vic's portrayal made the game more enjoyable because of how genuine Junpei sounded . And in person, he's pretty much a cool guy. I do agree that his fangirls are...uh, but I find his fanboying endearing in a way.

And, to finally address the actual secret, dubs rock. Well, a surprising lot of them do. A LOT more than other people claim. I really get sick and tired listening to my friends complaining about how dubs ruin their shows even though they make no effort to actually TRY and watch it.

I'm not starting a religion war with you, but since there are many devout Christians who don't have a problem with gayness, including one of my dearest friends who sings in the choir and never misses Mass, religious belief doesn't excuse homophobia in my book. There are many different ways one can choose to interpret scripture and people who choose to interpret it in a way that supports hate need to accept that they are adding to the hate and that they get no free pass on it in the name of Jesus (who, ISTR, was against hate). I'm not Christian myself, but I don't give any free passes to homophobic Jewish people either. If you think it's wrong then you shouldn't do it; but you have no business acting in ways that make life harder for other people who don't share your exact set of beliefs.

Although personally, I find it odd that you do this. If I understand correctly, it's not even possible for any new series character (or the Doctor himself) to run into any incarnation before Nine (thanks to how he ended the Time War). So the point is basically moot, as Rose will never - could never - meet 1-8.

Donna ia absolutely my favourite companion, but I barely teared up. I suspect because it was obvious from a mile away, and I'd been gearing myself up to see Donna go in an ugly way before the series even started and already grieved it enough that crying would have been redundant.

So, uh, know sort of how you feel? I feel like I should have been bawling for Donna, but whatever. Your reaction is what it is. *shrugs*

I find that I scroll past all the non-Doctor Who secrets to find them, because they're more interesting to me.
Occasionally a Supernatural, Heroes, Smallville, or Buffy one will catch my eye, and I'll stop to read.

The writers were out of work for two months, standing in freezing picket lines with no pay. The crew was out of work for two months, and they weren't even on strike. And even now that they're back, they're still not getting paid millions.

These shows aren't just about the hosts.

110. I'm stuck with an online fandom handle that was pretty random since I intended to stay a lurker, and wanted to separate fandom stuff from my RL handle. Now I wish I hadn't, because my main handle is the only one that feels like a name. TL;DR, naming yourself is fraught.
