I think I know who you are! That's weird, because I never do. So I feel weird giving advice on this, but I'm going to say it anyway because I'd want to know:

It wouldn't be a problem if you weren't still involved in the fandom where your name came from.

Most fandoms, calling you that wouldn't be a problem, and no one would think any less seriously of you. In that fandom, though - well, calling someone by the same name as the titular character feels strange. People do take you seriously, but I think people are leery of calling you by name because it feels strange to do so.

Please ignore this if I'm thinking of the wrong person.

114. I'm so fucking sick of secrets whining about how they're sick of other secrets. You're taking up space with them, and you're not going to make a difference - they're not gonna stop or anything. Popular shows have a lot of viewers, and therefore a lot of people with a lot of secrets come along. 166. American voice actors almost never (except when they are really experienced actors, like in Mononoke-hime) get the attitude right to go with the Japanese body language the characters use. It's disorienting and annoying and I hate dubs. Also, with a dub you can't compare the translation to the dialogue and play the entertaining "what did they get wrong?" game, which is particularly fun when American companies age sexually active teenage female characters up to extremes that make their behaviour ridiculous. "I'm 18 and in college!" coming out of the mouth out of someone who actually said "I'm 16 and in high school!" and doesn't even act that mature? NEVER FAILS TO BRING THE LULZ.

140: You probably do a much better job of living by the actual wise things he said than he ever did. Congrats. (He still ignored a fucked up 11 year old kid and even gave him much of the freedom he asked for, just because he didn't ASK for help he didn't know he needed. If he'd done something about Tom when Tom was 11 the world would have been wholly different. And I loved the way he sat and watched Tom's shattered soul weeping. I love tons of stuff from Japan, Canada and the UK, plus Epitafios (Argentina), Charlie Jade (South Africa), Obernewtyn and the Chaser's War (Australia)...there are a lot of people out there who love to see great movies, reads and TV from all over the world. Promote it. There are lots of people who will love it. (PS: I really wish people wouldn't refer to every prejudice and bigotry in the world or even in fantasy worlds as "racism". 127. I was not able to take it seriously after the end of the first movie when the code that took over the whole universe turned out to be...backwards katakana. Worse luck, the guy who took me to the movie was Japanese and he went off on a giant rant about Japan bashing and how the Japanese are always treated as evil in movie. I totally had to support him in that, because his feelings were completely understandable, but now that's all that I can remember about the movie! Also? Dark City and eXistenZ, which came out the same year, were a lot better. And had actors who can actually ACT. Jude Law & Rufus Sewell > > > Keanu Reeves (very pretty, but like an overbred toy dog, not much more you can say for him)

Well, another problem I have with Tennant and have had since the start is this personal issue I have with tending to go against popular opinion. I got into the show late and only picked up the DVDs because I wanted to see the ep with the ghosts. Then got hooked.

The whole time I was catching up on seasons 1 and 2, I'd see people go on and on about Tennant and how hot he is, so when he came around I was already doubting him. I don't like conventional hot celebrities (ie Brad Pitt). I don't think Tennant is hot either. And I'm not saying his acting is bad but he overdoes it a lot. Too much.

I too prefer It's A Wonderful World, but I understand how that seems to be an odd title for a game that gets as twisted as it does sometimes.)

(Also also, literally it's not It's A Wonderful World, either. It's Subarashiki Kono Sekai which means This Wonderful World, which is really just a nitpick but I actually like much better because it doesn't automatically make "and I think to myseeeeelf, what a wonderful wooooorld" get stuck in my head. As much as I love the song, it =/= this game.)

138. Again semi-related, but I think "overrated" is a kind of a cop-out word. If a lot of people love something, they love it. If your friends like a movie, it's a good movie to them. If you don't like it, it's not a good movie to you. Whether the movie is intrinsically bad or good really has nothing to do with it, and overrated or not doesn't come into it.

Yup. It was a 1939 comedy movie (although people will most likely think of the Louis Armstrong's song "What A Wonderful World". Understandably why they changed the name.
