uh, i thought the whole deal with the different name was because "it's a wonderful world" had copyright issues with an existing american movie or something. not because they wanted to 'emo-ify' it.

Yup, that's right! And this secret is actually a bit surreal to us TWEWY folks, seeing as "It's A Wonderful World"/"This Wonderful World" (the literal translation of the title) is actually from a really disturbing part of the game, whereas "The World Ends With You" is from an encouraging speech telling the main character to let other people into his heart. XD IT'S VERY ODD TO SEE THE NEW TITLE CALLED EMO.

Plus "It's A Wonderful World" makes "What A Wonderful World" get stuck in my head and that's a very, very strange song to associate with this game. o-orz.

I love Imadoki. I wish more people would read it. It was the last manga series I bought. Then I dropped out of the scene cold turkey. But this secret is lovely. Every chapter of the story made me feel good and sometimes even sappy (tearing up) sometimes. It was a good story. Really.

I saw chemistry between them in the miniseries, and I've never been able to shake that. I like Bill/Laura, too, but there's something so...primally satisfying in what I laid out in my secret. The strange mixture of cooperation and hostility in season 2 just ratcheted everything up a couple of notches....ah, I don't know. It will never happen, but it's great fun to daydream. :)

While I'm certain someone else has no doubt stated in the comments, the phrase "The world ends with you" does come up in the context of the game as being "the world is what you make of it.", i.e., you might be an island and never able to understand people, but if you even just try to reach out to others and connect with them, your world expands that much more. Also the original title had copyright issues so they had to change it.

Also the battle system -while cracktastic- has been more fun than just about any other RPG I've played in a while.

n!s2 It is all in keeping with this incredible and yet veracious story. Poor, unhappy Erik! Shall we pity him? Shall we curse him? He asked only to be "some one," like everybody else. But he was too ugly! And he had to hide his genius or use it to play tricks with, when, with an ordinary face, he would have been one of the most distinguished of mankind! 155: I actually agree with your classification... pretty much 100%, I think!

Some would wonder why Frontier is said to have shitty designs, I say they made it too floaty and not assured enough whcih is why they look all over the place in the anime (even minusing off the Satelight-has-crazy-faces factor) And in reality the designs are mostly quite cliche and some parts are just not suited for animation, especially Satelight style... I don't like those thick eye lines in the least bit either, they're rather awkward-looking.
Even though I can't stand Soul Eater the designs in that are much more impactful.

109. Actually, in the context of the game, "The World Ends With You" has a LOT happier meaning than "It's a Wonderful World," lol. The former is used in an inspirational context. The latter is actually, spoiler, since you say you won't play :'), connected to the villain.

Which is a good example of you judging this game based on no information whatsofucking ever. And imo, the fans aren't that bad. They're pretty nice from what I've seen. There's a few fanbrats, sadly, and yeah, it's a result of the resemblance to Kingdom Hearts. But you know, I wouldn't compare this to KH - I'd compare WEWY to the older Squeenix side-titles from the late nineties and early 2000s. It's one of the best games I've played in a long time, and I think you're pretty stupid if you're really going to not play it for such shallow, stupid reasons. If you don't want to play it, at least don't bitch about things you obviously know nothing about.

Judging things by their cover - not just for books anymore!


125. Oh god, yeah. Thank you, I feel the same way, I've been telling my friends for a while. xDD I haven't felt as happy and as home in a fandom in years as I have in the g00 fandom. I can't really say why, either, because logically it shouldn't be that great. But everyone is just so nice, and when arguments happen they get solved without drama, and it's like somehow everyone removed all the usual negative fandom aspects from it.

I seriously pin it on when we kicked out Bucue. Somehow epic wank unified it or something. *______* That was the moment, at least, when I realized I wanted every fandom to be a little more like the g00 fandom.

Well said! I agree that when Bucue was banned was the point in which we all really became united. From what I observed, Bucue made many people too afraid to converse to some extent because of the nature of some of many of his comments. Getting rid of him released that fear amongst us and allowed us to build the welcoming, friendly environment we have today. Plus, the combination of the really thoughtful discussions and general humor that results out of almost every news or media update has caused all of those who comment regularly to develop a good sense of comfort with interacting with everyone else. And once again, I agree, every fandom to be a little more like the g00 fandom. :)
