Given that the transporter is the third most dangerous piece of equipment on a starship (the holodeck and exploding consoles are the first two), you can guess this will not end well. However, the WAY it doesn't go well is probably not what you were expecting.

Seafood?

Are you a fan of seafood, FS? What's your favorite kind? And if you don't like seafood, tell us why!

Seafood is my favorite thing. I love all of it. the only seafood I've ever not liked is catfish, and that's because the few times I've tried it, it has just been really blandly fried.

Favorites: octopus, calamari, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels

I grew up on seafood. First in Boston and then in the Philippines. So seafood is in my blood. I miss being by the ocean and having really good seafood.

I love tuna (tuna sashimi especially, and when it's in sushi rolls), seared scallops, lobster rolls (and lobster mac and cheese), clam chowder (New England style, Manhattan style is good too just not my fave), and mussels steamed in butter and wine.

I just occasionally eat canned tuna fish. I don't like the texture of sea food.

I love seafood but feel guilty when I eat it due to environmental concerns. So I usually save it for my birthday dinner. I especially enjoy salmon or tuna sushi, clams, and shrimp.

I hate seafood. The only seafood I will eat is cheap breaded fish with tartar sauce where it's really not fish any more and you can't taste it for the tartar sauce, and also the clams in clam chowder (but I'm happier if that's not there - the consistency is off-putting).

The smell of cooking fish is the nastiest smell to me in the whole world. I hate it.

I do like clams, shrimp, scallops, squid, and crab. Not really a fan of lobster, though.

I'm a fan of prawns, sea-bass, place, dover sole, salmon. Pretty much any type of fish so long as it's not covered in batter and deep fried tbh.

I've also had squid and it was okay, mostly didn't taste of much and got chewier the colder it got, which was a bit gross but still edible.

What is life without sashimi? Also if you go to the beach and don't have calamari and fresh-caught everything with a cold one, what is the point?

I love it! Sushi is probably my favorite, but I also love shrimp, lobster and fish in general. Raw oysters, too.

Yes!! All kinds. I could eat fish/seafood all day. Scallops are my very, very favorite. Going to New Hampshire/Hampton beach as a kid to visit my dad's family, we would have seafood for *every single meal* for two weeks straight.

I like it in general but get easily bored with salmon and lobster. I love most fish, clams, and cocktail shrimp.

Fic reading quirks and irks

Sometimes, I’ll only like one or two of a fic writer’s stories, but fairly often if I really like someone’s writing in a story, I’ll like most of their stuff in the fandoms I read to varying degrees. Recently, though, I stumbled upon a writer whose long stories I really like, but I really don’t like their short stuff – it’s like it’s written by someone else.

Speaking of long stories, I usually won’t read something over 100,000 words unless it looks really, really good. I saw a fic that was over 600,000 words and could not even fathom starting it (for comparison, Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, the longest book in the series is about 257,000 words and War and Peace, New American Library version, is about 587,300 words).

so ive hit it off with this guy online and it's going great and is doing wonders for my depression but

he's someone i used to be super wary about based on hearsay/my own experiences with him and

my basically best friend also knows him and only knows him through me talking badly about the guy

so now i don't know how to explain how this happened or why i "suddenly" like him.

worse, said friend had/has(?) a crush on me and he's expressed in the past that he doesn't wasn't to know about things like that

but the online community is not that big and at the very least if i go on vacation to visit the guy i don't want to lie about what im doing to my friend, so sooner or later it will come up

it's such an annoying situation i just want to enjoy this
