I don't think this book was brave at all. I think McGowan came across as a self-serving, conceited hypocrite with little self-awareness.

Also, I was disappointed by the lack of celebrity gossip.

I’ve never seen Boggess live, but Karimloo made a way better Raoul than he did a Phantom. He idolized Colm Wilkinson and I dunno how much it influenced Karimloo’s Erik, but honestly he shouted a lot.

I half agree. I don't think his signing's bad at all, he's got my favourite voice in the group, but his fans are definitely everywhere and definitely play up his quirks a lot. I don't hate him, but I definitely don't like him as much as the other members, so i feel your pain.

Anyone could have made a better Duncan Kane, OP. However, I think this actor in particular would have been a little old for the role (or at least he looked older than the rest of the cast - but I don't know how old he is in real life or anything).
