I agree with you, the art in the manga can be pretty wonky at times. (I exaggerate limbs too, Naoko, but there's no reason for something like this (http://i34.tinypic.com/10efnde.gif) to happen!) But I think the anime actually had a lot more character development than the manga, and I know I'm in the fandom minority.

If they're really your friends, would it matter if you tell them you don't like Sailor Moon? People grow out of fandoms all the time.
