Gray ran out of money so quickly, he was left with only his shirt on his back.

Actually, he no longer even possessed that, sold off for some measly spare change when he wasn’t looking. At least he still had his shorts, though he often unconsciously unbuckled it before Nami pointed out his habit politely by smashing the back of his head.

“It’s a nice day for shopping, isn’t it?” she fairly sang, swinging her many bags back and forth. The bags were overfilled with magical trinkets, jewelry, dresses, and some other girly products that Gary dared not touch. Most of his day was spent standing outside really pink shops and peeking in every once in a while at the dangerous new world he discovered.

“I don’t have any more money,” he said unhappily. Luckily, he hadn’t drawn out all his money when he had met this girl who smelled like sea and oranges. And she had a cool tattoo. And she wasn’t mean like Erza and wasn’t annoying like Natsu.

“That’s fine,” she said happily, waving him away. “I have more than enough. It was a good day. Thanks for taking me shopping, Gr-Gr-“

“Gray.”

“Gray!”

She sighed happily, collapsing on a bench and leaned back. Gray put down the bags and began to sit down.

“Pull up your pants.”

He did so.

“So what are you doing around these parts?” she asked, finally sitting up. She dusted off her dress and smiled at him, and he flushed.

“I’m on a mission,” he said loudly, looking away. “I’m from Fairy Tail. The best magic guild in the world!” The last part was said particularly loudly.

“So you’re a mage?” She looked interested.

“Ice,” he said proudly, “One of the best there. Even better than Natsu.” This was said in a particular loud voice, and he pointed to himself proudly.

She was trying on necklaces.

He awkwardly moved his hand back down and shuffled in his seat. Unconsciously, he began to remove his shorts again.

She smashed him on the back of his head with a pole-thingy.

“Don’t do that,” she said. “It’s indecent.”

“Ri-right.” She was kinda like Erza. But he looked at her stick curiously, looked at her, looked at the stick, and looked back at her. When she still didn’t say anything, he stared at the stick, and then deliberately turned to puppy-dog eye her.

“It’s something Usopp made me,” she finally said. “It’s how I fight.”

“You fight too?” He brightened up considerably. “You must be tough.” After all, Erza still scared him even when she wasn’t there.

“Of course!” she said defiantly. She held out her stick and laughed loudly. “I fight alongside all my crewmates.” Oh, right. Gray hadn’t asked her what she did. But before that. Fighting could be much more interesting than girls.

“So what do you just hit people with it?”

“No, I change the weather.”

Lucifer gave a little whine and thunked his head against a tree. What was supposed to be a pleasant, agreeable afternoon talking to other people in the trade of underworld deities very quickly turned into each and every single deity indulging themselves in ego mania and leading to the sort of violent rows that were absolutely and utterly expected from this sort of get together.

“I told you so.”

He groaned inwardly, “Shut up, Sariel.”

Sariel gave a little eye roll and leaned against the tree. “Lux, really. The fact you weren’t expecting this frightens me.”

“I said shut up!” he threw his hands up in irritation and began to pace back and forth. Sariel watched him carefully. Something like this could lead to yet another break down. “God forbid one little thing I try to go goes right, huh?”

“Come on, I didn’t mean it like that,” she said. “Stop taking everything so personally. We managed to break up the fight and everyone’s getting on now. Admittedly, your display was pretty impressive.”

There was a moment’s pause as he stopped walking back and forth and gave Sariel a small grin. “It was, wasn’t it?”

“Would I lie to you?”

“Yes, quite possibly.”

She sank down onto the ground and leaned against the tree, grinning. “Well, I’m not lying about that. Incidentally, Azrael says that Hades is offering us one of Cerberus’ puppies as an apology gift.”

Lucifer nodded and sat down next to her, “What would we do with a three headed dog, Sariel?”

“Hell if I know,” she replied, grinning. “Teach it to eat the damned?”

“You’re sick, you know that?”

“It’s a perfectly good idea. I mean, we’re still trying to figure out what to do with all the people here, I see no reason that dismembering by adorable fluffy puppy that will be about a story tall by the end of it’s growth cycle is NOT a good means of using resources.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll consider it.” Lucifer rubbed the bridge of his nose and laughed slightly. “God, I don’t know why I keep you around, you homicidal maniac.”

“Because I let you screw me when you’re overly depressed when no other angel would and because of the fact I’m one of the few people who hasn’t tried to kill you in the past 75 years.” Sariel grinned and then pulled him into her arms, indicating that what she had said was actually sincere.

“Thanks,” Lucifer said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “I love you too.”

Mion told herself she would take no more than an hour to get ready. Anything more, and she'd lose a hell of a lot of respect for herself. This was Keiichi, the boy who walked around in maid outfits, for gods sake! (Not that he wasn't forced into them, but she'd leave that part out)

She stared at herself in the mirror, the brush she'd borrowed from Shion tangled within emerald locks. It would take a miracle and a pair of scissors to free them. Her face had been lathered with so much makeup it was hard to move. Every smile cracked the foundation around her cheeks, making her look like she'd been hit by a bus, flakes of fake skin peeling off in gigantic chunks. It probably would have been wiser to just get Shion to help her. But no, she would do this on her own. She was a girl, too!

"Hurry up, would you? It's been hours!" Keiichi moaned from the other side of Mion's closed door. She had barricaded herself in, and he was less than pleased at her vanity, to say the least.

Quick as she could, Mion peeled off the dried makeup (which was terribly easy to do. It even came off in one big, Mion-shaped piece.) and wrapped the hair that hung down her back over the tangled hairbrush, hiding it from sight.

"I'm not doing this because I want to, Kei-chan!" Mion lied, staring at her outfit hanging on the back of her door, directly opposite from where Keiichi was standing on the other side. It was a mans tuxedo, fitted to her size, even. Yet it still made her look like a rectangle with a head, thanks to padded shoulders that she just couldn't rip out.

"Let's just get it over with! Stop making me suffer!" Keiichi whined as Mion pulled on her tux, feeling way too manly in the thing.

It was funny. This was what she'd always wanted, a date with Keiichi, but... what they'd gotten themselves into was utterly ridiculous.

"Fine, I'm ready." Mion growled, opening the door and putting her hands on her hips. "...you look ridiculous, Kei-chan."

Keiichi scowled, his face turning a deep pink color, almost perfectly matching the skirt of his dress, which hung low around his hips and down to his ankles, where he had been so graciously shoved into hot pink kitten heels.

"Sh-shut up." He said, clutching at the sequined bodice of the dress, wringing it through his fingers. "Let's just go."

Mion smirked, suddenly feeling more normal than usual in her tuxedo with shoulders far too long for her body, standing next to a man in a pink dress down to his ankles. "Alright, Kei-chan," She smiled, "If you're so eager, well do it!"

She took Keiichi's arm in her own, and led him across the threshold.
