TB!3: *LAUGHS* 2nd Edition for the win! Though I have some friends who play 1st ed. still. ;3

Final Fantasy needs more yuri yes. But not another Cloud! ;_; Why can't she have her own personality?

114--LOL! I'm trying to imagine an afterlife where moviestars are punished for eternity by having to be on-call for random strangers. Don't worry, you haven't really been spending time with Heath Ledger. You could probably get the same result making Heath sock puppet.

127-What do you think is so racist about it? I know racism is a big part of the subject matter (and as was said above, great parts and great songs for black actors), but are you saying the way it's presented is racist?

137-LOL! I kind of love this. Not that anybody can't post something as a secret for their own reason, but some of things that are assumed to be troll secrets are more what I would imagine in a secret comm.

151-That's definitely a danger with that kind of guy! But as an aside, sometimes I get annoyed with people seeming to exaggerate the two characters to extremes about the ambition/success thing.

157-Don't know the site but as a guy, what do you think is the right way?

187-Considering the show, I don't see how this idea could be that fucked. Wasn't this scenario basically implied as a possibility in s1?

104: I don't get that either, but that seems to be what shipping means to most people. Maybe there needs to be another name for the "I like seeing these characters interacting" side of shipping, to distinguish from the "I like seeing these characters snogging" sort.

108: ... That man looks like his head's about to pop off.

124: Agreed. People should decide for themselves, based on what the majority likes or doesn't know. Seven times out of ten, I've found that obscure stuff is usually obscure for a reason.

133: Am I the only anime fan who doesn't care who does the dubs? If the voices fit and the dialog isn't changed, it's fine by me. (4Kids, of course, being the exception.)

138: What's been said earlier said it best. Dexter would end up dead, unless he was smart enough to ambush Sylar, but then Sylar would be dead and the fic would be over anyways.

147: Seems to me like you're hoping for a canon version of what would basically be a gender-swap fic. I hope you get what you're hoping for -- all yuri relationships need more publicity, in my opinion -- but if it doesn't happen, that option's always open.

By the way, I've noticed that a lot of yuri fans seem to keep their appreciation for girl love secret because of their F-list. Why? So they like yaoi and would look for the boy love, big deal. That doesn't stop you from liking yuri, does it? Don't be afraid, be proud that you can appreciate both types of same-sex relationship.

177: That snippet is hilarious, I must go find this now.

187: I love your descriptions. Unfortunately, I can't ever see them having any sort of sexual charge to that sort of thing, due to the fact that Dexter has a "lol death" attitude towards killing and Brian is more childish and playful with it, but I'd love to see a fic where they cut someone up together. The mid-kill conversations and victim intimidation would be epic.

196: See, that's why I prefer written smut. As long as the author doesn't describe it as "sweaty" or "rough" or anything like that, I can picture it as clean and pleasant as I want it to be. Also, don't be worried about what kind of pornography takes your fancy. You have a certain taste in smut, so follow it, and don't be worried about how that does or doesn't contradict your taste in storytelling, art, characters, etc.

From what I hear, Rachel Maddow is about 15 years too old to be attracting the attention of The Olbermann. A little bird told me. Also, that would mean Rachel would be making it with a guy named Keith.

>.>

<.<

Actually, that does sound like something Rachel Maddow would do. (*plays 'Ode to a Gym Teacher' to quell the buzzing in my head*)

108. Totally unrelated, but I'm convinced that he's Aquaman.

116. That's understandable. I don't know that you can judge people based on one show. I know several intelligent people that like it who have good taste. So they could like a variety of things. They're kind of weird. They remind me of Andy Kaufman a little. I really think there's more to the joke, And some of it kind of strikes me as commentary on things. Like the parodies of bad public access television. I mean, Tim's stand-up is purposely bad. He literally just goes out there and does everything a comedian isn't supposed to do. But that's the joke. And they're pretty nice, which is always refreshing. I like to reward people who are friendly with their fans.

170. Aw! You shouldn't have to feel bad about that. Really. Don't let it bother you. Honestly, nobody will remember. We all have bad days. If THE opportunity arrives, and you really want to talk to somebody, go for it. Now, if you see them at a store or something then it's probably not a good idea. Only because most celebrities don't like that because they need their time alone like everybody else.

171. Well, I know they like women. However, I've never seen them apart. So, perhaps they bat for both teams? They may not be gay, but they could be biiiii. ;)

119. I'm so pissed I can't bring myself to wear that necklace because I hate Misa. I mean, she's a great character that we're meant to hate, but I can't dress like her or wear her jewelry. This is why I wear the badges on my purse, hoping that, yes, someone will see 'em and say, "Oh! I read/watch that too!"

163. I totally agree with this. I mean, he was adorable in the movie likewhoa, so hey. ♥ But I love the show, so whatevs. At least we met halfway.

(ARG ARG ARG it took me three times to post this, cos it wouldn't stop fucking with my html.)

138. I ship it too. I've had fic written for me about it. It's a great pairing.

155. We all go through phases. I'm just getting off of a not-able-to-read-fic thing.

172. Let me talk to you about John Barrowman...

184. I LOVE Ayn Rand's work and I also love communism in theory. I don't know what that means about me xD

187. You? You're writing that fic for me now. Hoshit.

Harem animu=all harem animu.

Admittedly, this is coming from someone who didn't like either. Loved CLANNAD, though.

110. You know, I love that book. Especially the newer English translation. I've read it in a single (albeit a bit long) sitting at least twice. And I still think you're a bit messed-up, OP. Sorry.

[identity profile] cephiedvariable.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
160. Hal's one of my very favorite comic book characters of all time, but holy God do I agree with the sentiment behind this secret.

Johns took the Parallax exoneration too far. He cheapened all the work other writers had put into making Hal's descent into villainy intriguing. Hal's Rebirth took a character I love dearly away from me. D:

[identity profile] yukitheawesome.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
101. I CONCUR.

114. Mind if I join you?

124. YES.

132. LOL! That's awesome.

187. Then write it yourself. Even if it's only for you. That's what I do: it's better than having nothing.

191. ASDFJKL; I KNOW.

102. I ought to be all over Xena (so to speak), but it's just not violent enough for me. srsly.

.. shit, man, now I'm imagining "Francine Jones: Warrior Queen".

155. You're bored! Go to the library! :)

124. I agree with this secret. I can sometimes be that "Oh, it's popular? I'm not gonna bother then" type person, but on a few things (such as Dr. Horrible) I have decided to watch it, and I loved it. I mean, I don't think it's the best thing in the world, but I did enjoy it.

101, 138

[identity profile] winged-panda.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
101. Completely agree. I saw this movie 12 times in theaters. To this day, I've never seen a movie more times in my life.
138. Ewwww. Dexter is too good for him xD And yes, I'm a fan of both shows. I can't stand Sylar. >.>

[identity profile] jaclynhyde.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
105. THE CAT IS AWESOME. <3
109. Fabian Nicieza's name should always be written with little hearts on it. Always.
118. Oh, now you've made me sad. :(
119. Oh hell yes. I wear jewelry that obscurely relates to fandom. (Currently wearing: one praying mantis necklace.)
126. That. That screenshot. Oh man, I love this show.
129. ANOTHER BRAZIL SECRET FUCK YEAH
136. MIDDLEMAN IS AMAZING. I ship 'em like crazy, but only in fanfic--friendship and/or UST is a so much more fun dynamic.
144. Ahaha. Two Middleman secrets in one day? I heartily approve.
146. Earthworm Jim! <3
155. Take a break from fanfic? Try some new series/pairings? Try looking for the best writers? I don't know, but good luck.
156. That is a wonderful motivator.
72. OH GOD MY EYES
175. For chrissake, you can like a yaoi pairing--or even multiple pairings--without being a "rabid yaoi fangirl".
186. I don't give a crap about them, but man, that's a gorgeous picture.
191. NEED MOAR TWO-FACE

[identity profile] velvet-mace.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
104) I get you. Most of my ships aren't romantic -- they are just really interesting interpersonal dynamics, like a really intense friendship or captor/hostage or a rivalry or a parent/adult child relationship. Of course any of those could include some fucked up sex, (I'm definitely not asexual) but I'm not interested in halmark card romances. When I say "I ship it" I don't mean I want those characters to be happy.

115) But the Venture Bros are supposed to be eternally 16. Jared and Jensen are kinda old.

136) I'd be very surprised if it happened. For one thing The Middleman would have to actually contemplate consensual sex.

155) It's time to cleanse your palate on some original fic.

182) Think of it this way, you lost 3 people on your f-list who really don't share your tastes. As for the show, it's a taste thing. Why does anyone like anything? Because it hits a sweet spot.

129

[identity profile] zephyr-design.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Am I the only brazilian who didn't get that?
I feel awfully left out. What the hell is this?!

Re: 129

[identity profile] ouzelum-bird.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's from a 1985 film called Brazil (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/) directed by Terry Gilliam. The title comes from this song (http://www.asklyrics.com/display/Frank_Sinatra/Brazil_Lyrics/148421.htm), which is used at several points in the film.

138, 187

[identity profile] supershibby.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
138. I've read fic of this pairing before, actually. It is epic. ♥

187. IAWTS. Sorta. I confessedly do want them to fuck, but sexually-charged killings are ftw as well.

And you're right to avoid the fandom. It's absolutely awful, and yes, most of them are doing it very wrong.
