I'm seeing a flaw in your reasoning here, but you're probably too crazy to appreciate it.

Actually, it's not even that you're crazy. That isn't insanity. Giggling and believing that nothing matters... that isn't insanity in the least. Mostly, it's just irritating. To me, it sounds more like you're experiencing a lot of frustration with life. You mentioned that you ride the school bus, though. I imagine you'll get over it - not the frustration, just the giggling, aren't-I-ever-so-crazy-nothing-matters-you-plebes-why-don't-you-understand thing. But in the meantime, maybe you should go to therapy if you think you might want to.

Damn. I keep seeing secrets like this. They're starting to bug me. Everyone pokes fun at people who say this kind of thing for being ~*~*~edgy~*~*~, but I think it's annoying for more than that. It's annoying because it's so completely dishonest. Saying that no human pursuits matter is just an absolute lie - if anyone really believed that, they'd stop pursuing. Maybe that's not exactly it. I don't know. I'll do some thinking and come back.

The responses to these secrets have been getting on my nerves. It's not "edgy" to look around you and come to the conclusion that a lot of the world is concerned with a whole lot of bullshit. It's pretty reasonable. It's also pretty normal for teenagers who feel that way, and feel alienated because of it, to latch on to a character like the Joker as a way of expressing and exploring those feelings... Didn't almost anyone who was bullied or just bored to death at school spend a certain amount of time wishing they could just stab various people's eyes out? Uh, maybe I'm projecting there, heh.

I don't think it's even dishonest. For most people it's a phase. For some maybe it's a hint that they could and should look elsewhere to find real meaning.

I think what annoys me about the responses though is that this is a kind of anger that many people feel, and expressing it is good for you. Much better to see a movie and identify with elements of what the Joker says and make a secret about it than to bury it all inside and become incredibly depressed and write awful emo poetry and then kill yourself.

Sounds to me like the secret's OP could do with some therapy, because therapy is a good place to sound off about how awful you think the world is whilst hopefully learning about yourself and gaining some perspective at the same time, not because she's that much more crazy than a few million other people out there.

Uh, why do you think people are going to come to their senses or whatever and suddenly have an epiphany about how WRONG WE ARE? We like it. Get over it. The obsession will eventually fade but nobody's going to suddenly "realize it's just NOT THAT GREAT" because of a bunch of secrets, just like the hype isn't going to covince anyone who didn't like the movie.
