166. Agreed. I want to laugh at anyone who says, "Well, they're doing it so they can make more money!" Well, DUH! That's why it's called show business. Business is part of the equation. If a company thinks it can make more money by moving a film at another time slot in hopes of offsetting any potential bombs that may occur around a certain season, then it will do so. This isn't the first movie to be moved and it won't be the last. However, this is the first movie I've seen move where the fans are acting like absolute brats.

To jump on the bandwagon: This secret really offended me. You don't come across as a troll, and I don't want to be wanky, but seriously. A lot of people write or read about things they don't want to be involved in personally. Not every who writes/reads non-con wants to rape someone/be raped. Most people who write or read about someone dying don't want to die or see someone they love die. There's a certain fascination with other people and other peoples' experiences that defines creativity in itself. You can't be truly creative if you can't enjoy imagining something beyond your own experience or ability. We'd all be writing very happy, mellow realistic fiction if people only wrote about what they enjoyed doing in real life.

So, uhm... really? Aseuxality is no different from homosexuality or heterosexuality. It just means YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED. Are you one of the people who knocks on straight people for writing/reading slash/femmeslash? It's the same sort of situation. There are many reasons to enjoy reading smut, and they don't all have to do with fapping or schlicking. Sex is not a category of experience completely separate from everything else imaginable. When you start reading only fic that involves things you have experienced or want to experience, you'll have a bit more room to talk, but not even that would give you the leverage to tell people to go out and do something that they are uncomfortable with and that could cause psychological damage just so they can read about other people doing it.

If you ARE for real, you're insane. It's one thing to look at that universe (especially pre-OOTP) and analyse the reasons why this organisation might have existed or to be interested in why intelligent people who are not complete knuckle-dragging morons might have been interested in joining it. And on that scale, you're clearly nowhere near the top. Fortunately I don't actually believe that dumbasses deserve to die just because they're dumbasses. (Although I find it hard to be sympathetic when they do.)

136 - Too true. They basically just have bits and pieces of the Freeza saga and pop up only very rarely afterward. It makes me wonder if Toriyama never intended to really flesh them out much, or if he planned to, but "popular opinion" made him continue to put the focus solely on the Saiyajin. It wouldn't be unprecedented. He had originally meant to make Gohan the star of the show after the Cell saga and focus on his life through high school, but "popular" (Japanese, as this was prior to US release) opinion forced him to bring Goku back. So, who knows? I agree, though, there is a distinct lack of Namek-fic in fandom. (Or maybe I should say Namek-fic that doesn't involve some Mary Sue OC making babies with Piccolo or something, lol.)

102- Radiohead played the (reputably) most acoustically perfect auditorium in the world on my birthday, about an hour away from home. I was out of the country. By the time I heard about the show, tickets were long gone.

I'm so glad you decided to watch it! It really is a good show. It does bother me when people complain that it steals other shows awards, but come on, James Spader totally deserves every award he wins.
