123: *hugs fellow Jenny-lover* I just adore those two together as friends; I can't help feeling that they'd make a great couple. They're both incredibly fucked-up, of course, but maybe that's why I think it would work: they'd understand each other in a way that the more stable women in their circle wouldn't.

Also, goddamn, why is Jenny so unpopular with the fans? She's kind of a psycho, but Shane does stuff that's just as bad and doesn't get hated a tenth as much. She left Carmen at the frigging altar, for God's sake. And yet Shane gets forgiven, while Jenny gets vilified.

THANK YOU, someone who is SANE on the subject of jenny!!! shes been my favorite and ive shipped her w/ shane since day one. honestly, fandom is so batshit when it comes to her. IDGI!!!! she spent most of her life repressed and afraid to be who she was - now that shes discovered it, she doesnt hold anything back. she says whatever she's thinking, regardless of possible consequence. but now shes finally realizing that you cant ALWAYS think of yourself over other people, so i'm hoping theyre leading to a place where she finds a happy medium of still being able to be outspoken and stand up for herself, but learning to take her friends' feelings into consideration also.

and i mean, thats a GREAT character arc!! look at how far she's come from the timid little girl hiding in pink sweatshirts!

fandom, you FAIL for shunning the jenny/shenny love. MAJOR, EPIC FAIL.

123 - the batshit fan reaction to jenny is one of the many many reasons i stay out of general fandom and just stick to my ship-specific little corners. because i dont care what anyone says, jenny is an AWESOME character. who, yes, is flawed, but she's learning and growing. look at where she is now versus where she started out. i mean how many of the other characters have evolved that much? in short, ilu and you are 100000% right. SHENNY FOREVER.

I was totally the same as you, that's why I read it too. Here's a tip that I found useful: If you want to know what happens in the whole series to satisfy your curiosity, but really don't want to put yourself reading the books, then read the plot overviews on the Wiki article.
I did that for the other 3 and JESUS. How glad am I that I didn't read the books!

Didn't Shane already hurt Jenny at the end of last season?

In general there are times when I'm hugely sympathetic to Jenny and times when she's driving me crazy, but it wouldn't be The L-Word without her. Plus with that show they always do these unrealistic things so it's hard to really have a problem with anybody. Like, why on earth would Jenny's agent be dropping her etc. due to Adele's machinations? Wouldn't it be Adele who would be radioactive in Hollywood because of what she did? Jenny's the best-selling author who seemed to somehow turn out to be a talented director as well.
