145. I love Cillian's Scarecrow. He really pulled the character off well, despite looking ... well, nothing like Scarecrow. I was skeptical at first when I found out he was cast as Scarecrow, because canonically, he's tall, lanky, and pretty average-looking (my favourite comic-verse look for him is Year One: Batman and Scarecrow,) and Cillian is the opposite of that (aside from lanky. He's pretty lanky.)

He completely sold me, though.

As for your question, I ... suppose you could view them as two different personalities, but it really depends on the verse he's taken from. On the subject of Nolan-verse, he didn't appear to have split personalities until the end of the movie, after being gassed. A big part of Jonathan/Scarecrow's personality is that he has this need to be the most feared. As Jonathan, he's not very imposing. He's manipulative, cold, and calculating, but not incredibly feared. As Scarecrow, however, while the costume itself isn't scary, the things he does while in costume are. Before he's gassed, it never struck me as so much a personality split than a power trip.

After he's gassed, however, is a completely different story, IMHO, as he's pretty much been driven insane by that point (which is also evident in the second movie, if you note his body movements and such.)

181. I just got into the series a few weeks ago, so I haven't encountered too much of the fandom. I have two friends that are into it, and some other friends who I'm introducing it to. At first I actually favored Jared out of the two but liked Jensen plenty. Now they're pretty much equal (I've only watched the first two seasons so far--eagerly awaiting season 3 on DVD).
That people get so divided on the two seems completely against the point of the characters. D: I mean, why rip fans apart when one of the best things about the characters they love is the bond they share anyway? WHO CARES if they have UNIQUE, IMPERFECT physical features? WHY CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG?
Good luck on that happy gas. Although I think I can do without.

107. That's the thing about Evangelion: the entire series is one big deconstruction of Super Robot tropes. Asuka is the typical tsundere loli type taken to its logical conclusion. Generally, being so overtly critical of others, voilent, and superior shows that a person is far from okay. In an ordinary anime, this would not have been explored, but Evangelion is far from ordinary.

I love Scarecrow. A lot. But no, despite what most of the fandom believes, I do not think that he has a split personality, no matter what version of the canon you're looking at. I honestly don't even know where it might come from.

Crane is simply a sadist, who takes pleasure in causing fear and relishing the reactions he gets from it. Even when he doesn't have the mask on, which is usually where people try to have him clearly separate his personalities, he's still very much attached to the power he can get over people with his own mind. That, and how much he can watch them squirm. If he's got a split personality, then they're both addicted to the same thing. :|

Sorry about that, I don't know what's wrong with my MS paint but it always does that and it's beginning to piss me off.

I didn't realize that it was all screwy or I wouldn't have submitted it.

And I assumed that Jonathan becoming the Scarecrow was like Bruce becoming Batman: He's just assuming his alter-ego and at some points he's deluded into thinking that he really is the alter, but not to the point where it becomes another personality.
