Agreed! There's a lot of secrets about how someone was inspired to do something positive by a character, or a a show or movie or book or whatever, and I say, good! Inspiration can come from all sorts of places, and just because you were inspired by something fictional, it's no less valid than if you were inspired by a real person or event.

115. AGREED. I mean, I personally love seeing people experiment with writing styles in fandom. I think it's more fun to read different styles and such instead of the same old again and again.

158. Also agreed. 9 times out of 10, when I get into a fandom my favorite characters would be the villain. It's a real shame when villains seem to be liked solely because they're 'pretty' and not on their own merits.

Hey, I can totally see how one could have a crush on Jon Anderson, he's so sweet-looking (especially when he was in his 20s). I don't think he looks so bad now actually, but considering the history of his decisions and everything and how unfortunately strained his voice has got (really hope he gets well soon) it simply looks as if Steve aged most gracefully. Maybe he's gotten a bit slower at playing the guitar but he does it so thoughtfully!

Additional confession time from me: I'd get flamed for saying this in many places but as sad as it sounds Yes should just break up - Jon's holding the band back, but without Jon nobody's going to treat them as Yes either (this isn't the 80s anymore). I propose Squire, Howe, Anybody and White and they can call themselves SHAW. Yeah right.

119. I'm a major hardcore House/Wilson fan, but I love Cuddy, and killing her would really depress me. Honestly, if they made House/Cuddy canon (again, seeing as how they have already slept together), I wouldn't really mind. Sure, it'd make me sad if it meant that there'd be no more psuedo-House/Wilson-y hints, but wanting her to die just so she's out of the way of your couple? Way to make the rest of the slashers look bad. That's EXACTLY what I constantly have to defend myself against when I say I dislike a female character. :/

135. Pushing Daisies seems like the type of show that needs to have as many happy moments in it as possible, so I wouldn't fret about it too much. XD It'd make me really sad, too, though! Just because I don't want Olive to take Ned from Chuck doesn't mean I don't want her to have her own happy ending. D:

146. Well, I don't technically agree, seeing as how I did ship them but I disliked when they started dating 'cause it killed the fun of it. And then when he became the new quarterback, I stopped watching. His being a football player just made him "acceptable" to date Kim, and it didn't seem quite as cute - like they cared about titles. It went against a lot of what I loved about them as a couple, so I ditched the show. :/

178. That doesn't make you new or special. A hell of a lot of other people would tap that, as well. Myself, I love the Joker, and Bruce, and Harvey Dent, but I don't think Alfred gets enough love. I'd hit that hard, despite the fact that he's old enough to be my grandfather. More secrets should be about his sexiness.

104: OMG I understand! I have written fic about two of my guy friends before. They happily WENT SHOE SHOPPING together for goodness sake!! How could they NOT be hittin’ it???

Why? He beats the crap out of her and doesn't even love her (I don't think he's capable), but has to go get his toy back if she goes off without him. It's not a relationship, she's his plaything. And she's so devoted to him, she doesn't even realise.

Why on earth would anyone WANT to be in a relationship like that?

I, personally, think he loves her, even if it's the tiniest bit.
And, screwed up as it may seem to others, I think it's somehow sweet.

105- LOL! He was my first! Then I feel for the other one.

124- I love Mad Men. Those are my two favorite characters too. I think it might be because it is on an obscure network and the time period it is set in. I relate to it because I was born in the early sixities and I recognize the decor and even the attitudes of many of the characters in my relatives, including my parents. Down to the methods of child rearing: wait til your dad gets home.

130- Well, he's a little strange so it's okay.

160. Agreed.<3 They're such a lovely and comical couple. It takes talent to pull off the monotoned, but emotional melodrama they achieve so easily.

I suppose things like "I hate ___!/___ shippers disgust me!" will go on till fandom's last dying breath.

However, at this point I'm left to wonder....
Who cares besides the secret poster?

Shame how all this animosity is missing the larger picture.
Both about the bond ( romantic or not ) between these two.
...And about simply allowing yourself to enjoy fandom as you want to perceive it.

My problem with all the slash and incest stories is that they take away from all the stories that *could* be written about the characters in a non-romantic way. I mean, I personally love to read/write about the platonic relationships between the characters. I have nothing *against* slash/incest, but I just wish that there was an equal balance between that(and heck, het too) and non-romantic relationships.
