I want them to cancel NCIS: LA so they can bring Finn back to Grey's Anatomy. Finn was superior to Derek in every way. Meredith should have picked him the first time around, and I'd like to see him back again.

I stopped watching Criminal Minds long ago, but I'm still sad it's ending. I just wanted to see how far they could take it. Really go for it, you know?

I think Dick Grayson is meant to be ~30ish in Titans and after googling I know the actor is that old, but he looks early 20s to me and I can't take him seriously as a detective.

I appreciate the kudos I get but I'm not competitive about it. I don't go around checking if X or Y fic got more or less kudos than mine.

And then I realized that a story I wrote for a very minor pairing was the one with the most kudos for that ship, and now I'm obsessively comparing the amount of kudos in my fanfic against others with similar tags.

Bonus secret: I have no clue why that particular fic got so many kudos. It's a one shot PWP for an older fandom, starring minor characters in an incestuous relationship, and nowhere near as hot or well written as some of the other fics for that pairing.

I wish there was more of an active shipping fandom for Tokusatsu shows in the English speaking part of fandom. In particular, I currently crave all the Kamen Rider Zi-O shipfic for Sougo and Woz (and kinda for Geiz/alternate Woz as well now). But there hardly is any. :(

I'd like to delve into Berserk again due to my recent bingeing of Beast in Black and Battle Beast songs. (They've certainly made no secret of being fanboys.)

But really, the gore and cannibalism scenes would be too much. I just want to see Guts and Casca.

I've recently joined a shiny but tiny new fandom and I want people to write fic for characters and pairings that I don't like. Because we need variety, because I'm self-conscious about flooding our little space with my crap, and because... well, I like my own vision of characters and pairings I do like better than other people's anyway.

When it is WINTER in the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE, is is SUMMER in the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. It is never Summer EVERYWHERE.
Please learn this bit of very primary school knowledge before starting your "It's Summer and Jack is dying (despite hav5inf somehow survived like 200 previous Summers...)" fic.

I don’t know when this started to happen, but I’ve found myself cringing every time I see a vampire AU fanfic for any of my (het*) OTPs. I’m already bored by the standard “brooding yet masterful handsome loner” love interest that shows up in so many romance novels, and vampire fic usually dials that trope up to 11, then breaks the dial.

*the trope is obnoxious regardless of the genders involved

I don't understand people on friending memes who say they don't want fandom friends because "I want to actually know you." Isn't it pretty normal to get to know people through common interests? I have a harder time getting to know people who only talk about their day-to-day lives.

I think the whole Kindle Worlds debacle was an awful idea, but I wish a fanart version that worked like Redbubble/Zazzle/etc was a thing, because so many movies and shows have either no merch, or no merch about characters/pairings I give a fuck for, and fanart that’s uploaded by fanartists to print-on-demand sites tends to get pulled pretty quickly.

inspired by the ron/hermionie secret, and i don't have any feelings towards the couple at all it's just reminded me of an annoying current trend in fandom:

but i wish people could just admit that they don't like a pairing because they think it's boring or a certain trope in it just doesn't work for them instead of coming up with bullshit reasons why a relationship is 'abusive' or 'toxic'. because most of the time they're really not and i'm getting fed-up of how fandom is watering down those terms to try and make relationships they don't like seem worse than they actually are.

What movies have you enjoyed recently, either in theaters or at home.


I spontaneously went to the theater yesterday and saw both Aquaman and On the Basis of Sex. I quite enjoyed them both, though for very different reasons. Aquaman was just fun. I wouldn't call it amazing, but it was pleasantly enjoyable and the second of the DCU movies that I've actually liked (the other being Wonder Women; the other DCU movies are terrible). On the Basis of Sex was fun as a lawyer and as a big fan of RBG.

There are probably some plant people here....

I was gifted this (https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Sprout-DIY-Gardening-Kit/dp/B07DDG873X) during the Reddit Secret Santa exchange. I plan on growing them inside but need help with setting up how to grow them.

1) I planned on buying these planters (https://www.amazon.com/T4U-Plastic-Nursery-Flower-Pallet/dp/B078MPTNNH). Are these suitable?

2) I am worried about them getting enough light. I will be putting them on this kind of shelf (https://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-Supreme-Shelving-Adjustable-Chrome/dp/B004BDP67E). I will put them in my sunniest room but my house has a large tree in front of it. Is there a cheap light I can get to supplement natural light?

3) What kind of potting soil should I get? Do I need to get something to put in periodically for extra vitamins?

4) Should I wait until summer to try and grow them?

Any other tips?
