I don't want to be rude, and I agree that fictional politics are fascinating. But, uh, I don't think that the prequels did a very good or in-depth version of fictional politics at all. It's pretty much as basic and on-the-nose and simple a version of that story as you can do.

YES. Literally came here to say this - his laugh is so weird.

Not to be condescending, but that "now" at the end of your secret makes me think you definitely do not remember when the original HP novels were coming out. People speculated a lot. Also, as someone above me said, that's what fans of serial fiction do!

All my in-laws watch his quiz specials at the end of every year and his laugh genuinely unsettles me, lol

what a hot new take on "James Potter was a bully." can't get traction insulting him, so you go for McGonagall?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I don’t know if this is a joke or if I’m very very out of touch with who the rpf shippers are into

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well this takes me back.......

I think they would have ended up there if the show hadn’t gotten cancelled, so....thank goodness for small mercies I guess. I could never really buy that they had any romantic interest in each other so the writers’ sporadic attempts at trying to say yes there was always seemed so incredibly random. John’s candlelit dinner fever dream in particular was a serious WTF moment for me. Though I wasn’t thrilled to have the show end with Atlantis on Earth, I was always kind of relieved that it meant that they never did end up going there after all with those two.

It's like the way an animatronic robot would laugh. I never thought that a laugh could be in the uncanny valley, especially if it was an actual person's laugh, but here we are.

I initially misread this as something about bullet-journaling in character, and gave myself a chuckle imagining certain characters attempting to maintain a bullet journal.

I find them too limiting. If I'm going to journal I'm gonna need to be able to write as much or as little a day, and about precisely what I want or need to, as I'm feeling, and if I find myself daunted by an expectation of organization or neatness or homogeneity, I will balk.

Agreed, and I’m not even sure why. I can ship both of them with lots of people - just not each other.

Agreed

I mean , James Potter was a bully, that's a fact.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I had to google wtf this is and just add that to my list of reasons I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

yes it's a bullet pointed list. on a post-it note.

Troll in the dungeon.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Who mentioned James? Why are you so paranoid?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't even know what bullet journaling is supposed to be. I've seen 'examples' all over pinterest and shit but I still don't get it.

Like, some have graphs and drawings and some actually pointform notes?

Tastes linked to memories

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I just ate a candy that was my favorite in high school that I don’t eat much anymore and woo boy it was like having a flashback.

So anyway, what tastes are really linked to certain memories or periods of time in your life? Are there foods you avoid because of memories attached? Foods you seek out?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm 100% down for RPF, but talking about one of them having hopeless, passionate love and attraction toward the other as though it were fact is a little cringey.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
i think instagram worthy art spreads and trackers are kind of orthogonal to the purpose of bullet journaling, which is getting shit done. lots of people run with fugly but useful bullet journals.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I attribute this to Rowling's sloppy writing. She very clearly doesn't mean for the character to come off this way, but hasn't followed through with making sure her character behaves consistently to match what Rowling intends. That's true for so many of her characters.

I remember before the third book came out, my local newspaper ran a contest for people to predict what would happen

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure this is a tongue-in-cheek comment on some of their promo pictures in response to the last time there was a FS secret about them.

I don't like the pairing at all (the chemistry just feels...Not romantic to me), so I agree with this sentiment 100%
