Games thread!

I think the place you have to start is that the experience of playing it clearly made an enormous impact on a lot of people, so it was a good game in some sense. Any theory that you want to come up with about it has to account for that.

Either you like the broody bad boys or you don't. It's not rocket science, just preference.

Babies ever after

The Naruto secret made me wonder, has there ever been instance where this made sense for all the characters involved?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-30 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't mean to be rude, but not believing in ghosts because of an absence of proof is the default position that everyone should have at every point.

But why

The last time I read Naruto was in 2007 and my main idea of what happened after is "it ended and then it got a next gen sequel", so the critical question clearly needs asking:

Who the hell did Kakashi end up with.

+1

That's not how belief works, though. Plenty of people believe in things for which there is little to no proof, and absence of proof doesn't necessarily change their minds: flat earthers, chemtrails, various conspiracies, etc.

On the other hand, it's hilarious when some of the shittier theories are blown out of the water by an episode.

I don't mind the stereotype, but IMO Rochester isn't even a tempting example of it.

I can't think of any series in particular, but it would only make sense in a situation where the world needed to be repopulated.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-30 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you LIKE the stereotype?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-30 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
God

(Anonymous) 2019-04-30 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure why this is a secret? For the love of Mike, even the Bronte sisters agreed that Rochester and Heathcliff would be unbearable in real life.
kaijinscendre: (alec AAAAAYYYY)

spoilers for a 10 year old game

I don't think people consider it a pioneer for choice so much as a pioneer for storytelling.

-Ryan found out about the phrase from piecing together what was going on and Suchong's work. He had Jack kill him to prove his philosophy of "A man chooses, a slave obeys." He wanted to show Jack that he was not a man at all and he was willing to die to do that.

-Tenenbaum didn't use the phrase because she didn't know the exact phrase to use. That is why Fontaine never used it often. So anyone listening would not find out. It is also implied there was more than one trigger in Jack's head.

-Atlas is Fontaine. Fontaine created Jack as a failsafe in his war against Ryan. Because Jack is Ryan's son, he is able to use the many of the things programed just for Ryan.

-You become a Big Daddy because you need a still infected Little Sister to help you.

But that does sort of raise the question of what the point of looking for empirical proof is, doesn't it?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-30 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Why do people like them? Because they're bad.

Why do people dislike them? Because they're bad.

From what I can tell anyway.

Him dressing up as the fortune-teller was so creepy.
