What movie is this?

Re: 104

[identity profile] snapini.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.

174

[identity profile] mydnight-dreams.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I love all M. Night Shyamalan movies and The Village was no exception. I found it incredible that those people went through so much to shield their families from everyday modern life. I think the reason most don't like this movie is because the 'creatures' weren't real.

Re: 174

[identity profile] shadhahvar.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
And that was my favorite part. The "monsters" were a product of their society, even on such a small-scale, insular level.

[identity profile] renegade-raine.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
106: Ahahahahaha...oh god, I can't unsee it now! xD

116: I'm fairly new to the House fandom, but Chase/Cameron is totally my OTP. It kind of mystifies me too as to how the fandom for the pairing is pretty small.

152: Agreed. Even if I'm typically a shonen kind of girl, this will always be my favorite series, deep down inside. <3

174

[identity profile] oldstarnewshine.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
(Warning: Spoilers for the movie mentioned, but I don't know why you're reading this if you haven't seen it...)
I would have love, love, loved this movie if M Night had had the guts to make there be actual monsters instead of some dumb, badly thought out conspiracy crap. A) because with all the promotion for the film about the monsters, and it being an M Night film, you pretty much knew from the get go what the 'twist' was gonna be, so it would have been more shocking the other way around and B) because it so thoroughly assassinated Adrian Brody's character. He wasn't interesting at all after the reveal.

167. Fake cuts I like. Because from the author stand-point, it keeps everything in one journal so you don't have to keep track of where you posted what. And from a reader stand-point it's really easy to find more fics of authors you like because you can just look through their fic journal instead of searching through the fandom's comm (which may or may not use tags) and even then you'll miss out on other fandoms you may like.

Fake cutting to locked journals is where I agree with you. It bothers me to no end to click on a promising link for a fic or some icons and find the entry locked. I refuse to friend someone like that because I always figure that there's more fics and icons out there for the same fandom.

[identity profile] aliaras.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
122. My best friend had an Edward!Boyfriend. My advice from her? Get the fuck outta that relationship so fast. She's still messed up from that guy :-/

148. I hear it that way about half the time. It's not that I'm under a rock, it's that it's a stereotype for the Camp Gay character that sets him off from other characters. This is why I don't rely on it for gaydar.

157. Tbh, I don't find her more or less interesting than the rest of the ducklings. She's definitely the hottest, though, and I do appreciate that.

167. Agree so hard.

103. BOX! ♥

122. This is exactly why I loathe Twilight. That a girl should feel ashamed for not thinking being stalked by a "nice guy" is ~*romantic*~ is warped. Fuck Smeyer and fuck those thoroughly unromantic books.

To 122's OP, please tell somebody if he is making you this nervous. And tell him to cut the Cullen crap.

135. I think I understand what you mean. Hee! for bizarre friendships.

167. Word.

174

[identity profile] donoka.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I freaking love this movie!
Shyamalan is sort of like my guilty pleasure movie wise ;D
but omfg. Jeebus I loved the music, it was freaking -gorgeous-

117.) They both amuse me. I need my fix of stupid-funny movies from time to time. Not to mention, Elf is such an adorable movie.

157.) Do that many people really hate her? I like her (and, yesh, she is hot). I had no idea she inspired such hatred. o.o;;

157

[identity profile] metrometric.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not in the fandom itself, but I would imagine a lot of people see her as a Cameron rip-off?

Idk, I wasn't aware people hated her either, but it doesn't really surprise me.

165. Do mine eyes deceive me? TWO FFT secrets in one day? ...And I know how you feel, OP. She is made of awesome. XD

102. My LJ display name is "Gregory Edgeworth = Kaien Shiba" because of an experiment with turning a PW slashfic into a Kuchikicest fic. It went horribly right. So you're not alone.

122. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. No seriously. This will not end well if you stick with it.

124. I lie and say I don't like it because most Gavincest fans are fucktards about it. I've got the same problem with Edgeworth/Fran.

134. Nobody is ever going to win this battle, don't even try.

149. Well there are always going to be haters, but a better scheduling would have hampered down on unrealistic and heightened expectations so for those who hated it (I personally loved it) maybe the blow wouldn't have been as hard and are less likely to growl about it.

164. LOL, Kurt/Toad, I don't really ship them, but they are pretty funny, poor funny guys.

172

164. I used to, too :D Is there still much of a fandom for that?

122

[identity profile] anogete.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
122 - No, no, you're not being a spoiled bitch about it. It should be creepy. When I was in high school, a boy I met online did a similar thing to me. But he never introduced himself. I would go home at the end of the day, and he would message me and tell me what I was doing and wearing and who I was talking to during times I was out of class. I had no idea what he looked like, but I was terrified. Even if he was sending me e-roses and telling me how wonderful I was. He wanted me to drive him home from school one day, but I ended up ditching him and running through the parking lot commando-style trying to get away because he wouldn't take no for an answer. Then he resorted to calling my house and telling my parents that I was breaking his heart and that I had led him on. Trust me, it was super dooper scary. Don't feel bad for waiting to get away from him.

OK, I have to ask: how do you people even know about Howdy Doody? I'm a genuine product of the 1950s, and it's part of my very earliest childhood. Is it just that much of a visual cliche, or what?

105. That's actually pretty awesome to me. But I've always loved Sherlock Holmes, and Watson is my favorite, hands down.

121. Awe, we're not that bad, are we? Last time I checked the comm we were pretty fun. Though, the fanfic... Well...
