Whatcha doing today, FS?

It's still before noon where I am (California). Today I'm off work, going to go to brunch with my husband in a few minutes and then just hang out and chill all day. I'm making bbq pulled pork in the crockpot for later, and will be making watermelon salad to go with it. And I'm off work for the next couple of days too, yay, som I'm going to be watching Good Omens (everyone seems to like it so I downloaded it the other evening).

It's 10pm here and I'm dealing with my period pains by drinking hot chocolate, listening to Barry White and writing incest slash porn.

Rewatched some Hemlock Grove and got reminded that other shows than Game of Thrones also got crappy endings lmao. At least in that case I was warned and never watched season 3 (and don't plan to, ever) and just have my headcanons and fics from season 2 onwards.

I have two colleagues who are look a bit like one of my OTPs. I keep finding myself shipping them. It's so incredibly inappropriate I kick myself so hard everytime I catch myself doing it.

I loved Avengers:Endgame almost entirely because of Nebula's storyline. She's become one of my favorite Marvel characters, and I was so happy to see her get her moment to shine that I didn't care what happened with anyone else.

I've been over the Harry Potter books for years. Yet I still read Harry Potter fanfic. Something about that world still speaks to me even if I no longer think much of the writing of the actual books.

I just finished season one of the Handmaid's Tale and as much as I think the whole situation is terrible and wrong and everyone deserves the right to choose how to live their lives, a small part of me thinks I might be happy with just existing without having to make any decisions.

Jackson Galaxy changed my life. I wish I could get the chance to tell him how much he has meant to me. My cat saved my life when I was depressed and suicidal, and I never would have gotten her if it wasn't for him. He taught me to understand cats. He was the reason I found her and took her home. He was the reason we bonded. He helped me get her in my life, and she saved my life. So in a way Jackson too saved my life.

I disliked Steve's ending in Endgame not because of him, but because I loved Peggy's story how it was. I loved the idea of her finding a second love and an ultimatively happy life in the end, despite losing Steve.

I think all of Sarah J. Maas' books are terrible. Usually with popular books I can at least see the appeal somewhere, even though they're not for me, but with her I just can't. Wish I could just ignore them, but these books are everywhere.
Bonus: At this point I'm so petty I won't even like pics on Instagram with her books in them.

I relate a lot to Nebula. My sister was the favorite. Our parents weren't outright abusive, but they weren't great. And our dad definitely toed the line of being verbally abusive. She was the "good child" (not really, just better at hiding things than I was) while I was the depressed kid who was failing classes because no one had figured out I was depressed and therefore everyone thought I was lazy. It is still hard for me not to blame my sister for our childhood. And there actually was a period where my sister was physically abusive (not that she remembers it that way). So I have difficulty sympathizing with Gamora. Like, how did you not notice how badly Nebula was being treated? Yes, they both were kids and all the blame goes to Thanos. But I get Nebula's early rage at Gamora. I get it.

I struggle with watching Ricky Whittle as Shadow in American Gods. Not because he doesn't look like I imagined (I don't care), but because all can see is Calvin Valentine from Hollyoaks. Oddly, I don't have the same issue with Nathalie Emmanuel in Game of Thrones (who played his sister).

I preferred Thor in the MCU before Chris Hemsworth was allowed to basically turn him into "Chris Hemsworth with a magic hammer/axe" - god forbid an actor have to actually act.

But everyone loves that version of Thor. I know this isn't a popular opinion.

People care too much about how TV shows end. The ending of a show is only 1 episode. If it's bad, it doesn't make the episodes before it worse. I think it's much better to ignore a bad ending and focus on the parts of the show you thought were good all along.

I hate how shipping has become a matter of "representation" rather than a matter of which characters you'd like to see together.
