Rule 34 is one of those fandom rules (like Godwin's Law) that says if someone asks if there's porn (or just fic? I dunno if it's that specific) of a pairing, someone will find it.

Case in point would be the Care Bears porn, the community for Jesus/Judas, and so on.

If I were single and my favorite character walked into a room, I agree that it would be awkward and I'd prolly freak out and not know what to do or say. Theres no way in hell I'd throw myself at them. But I'd totally flirt and see where it went, providing we were both there alone, but thats just something I do. I'm one of those people that flirts without realizing they're doing it.

When I say "I'd hit it", I don't mean that I'd randomly jump on them the moment I saw them or something. I do try to have class... sometimes. But if they offered, I wouldn't turn them down. Or wouldn't have, years ago, before I got married. XD

In a way I do get this secret though. I'm sure if actually faced with their favorite person or character, none of these "I'd hit it" people would know what to do. I seriously doubt any of them would actually throw themselves at someone. Then again... there are people like that out there.

103: I have no problem with non-con existing in fictional form (since nobody is actually being hurt), but I can't read it. It makes me want to cry and rage. I don't think people who enjoy it are sick, though. They just have another reaction; it's just a matter of taste.

122: Yes, sex is a filthy, horrible necessity when procreating, and should be kept behind locked doors, between man and wife in the missionary position and with the lights turned off so that they don't have to look at the disgusting things they do.

124: Ye gods, that translation is horrible.

128: "Best" is always subjective, I find. I definitely like Tsubasa very much, but there are other series that are just as good. That said, er, there are character arcs, and Fai's especially was very wel balanced. I felt that CLAMP had finally learnt not to overdo the drama.

Kingdom hearts, however, wasn't exactly about saving the girl, though. He's looking for both of his friends, one boy and one girl. IIRC, it's because of Riku that he starts his travels, actually. The story evolves to being mostly about the fate of the worlds later on, and it's not as if Sora doesn't care about their fate.

161: Who cares about role models? Female characters have to be good characters. And there need to be as many variations among female characters as there are among male.

That said, I think Bleach is one of the few manga/anime that's managed pretty well with the female characters. Still, why is only one captain female? And why is she the "gentle but strong" type? I mean, she's awesome, but very typical. When there are female characters like her and female characters just like, for example, Kenpachi, Aizen, Gin, or Kurotsuchi, I'll be happy. Slightly insane and not (conventionally) aesthetically pleasing.

And can we please be rid of that fucking illusion that certain traits are "female"? Being bold and adventurous is not "acting male". Being caring and family-focused is not "acting female".

I have to admit, I've never quite bought into the fantasy =/= reality argument re: non-con. It is a fantasy, yes, and it is technically harmless at this stage. But rape is also morally reprehensible.
If I got off on the idea of say, racial cleansing, you'd say something was WRONG with my thought processes, wouldn't you? And you'd be right. I think people into non-con need to take a serious fucking look at the ideas they've internalized about sex and/or gender.

109. For the most part I see myself as loving both Sam and Dean and Jared and Jensen equally, but at times I think I do tend to favor Sam and Jared more. Jared just seems like an incredibly easy person to be around, open and accommodating, and Sam, well, I like smart boys with special abilities. XD But honestly, it does sadden me at times how often people put down Jared; he's just as important to the show as Jensen is, and you couldn't have Supernatural without either of them. They BOTH deserve respect.

I actually do think this series is better than some of the more popular one's out there, and that if only more people would give it a try then maybe the fandom would be more diverse and active. It's a shame, because I'd looove to see fanfic and quote icons and shipping wars; the things that every good fandom has! XD (If I don't know you, add me? I'd love to have another Pendragon fan on my flist!)

158. BIG O! People that have a problem with Big O can shove it. It was fun, pretty as all hell, and the characters were likable. Maybe it wasn't the most original anime ever, but does every anime (or any piece of media) have to be? ... Plus Roger was damn hot. ... And hell, while I'm at it I might as well admit Dorothy was too. Lots of hotness in that show. I miss it D: (And don't have the DVD's. Drats.)
