:x I think people are just happily slapping the "all KH fans are yaoi fans and all yaoi fans hate women" stereotypes around. Gah.

To be fair to Kairi, she's not mean/evil/etc... I try not to bastardize her, because she kind of must be a decent person or she wouldn't be the McGuffin. But she also doesn't do anything. She spends most of KHI unconscious and most of KHII elsewhere. Even when she did show up and got a weapon, she didn't do anything with it! She's a plot device and a minor character. That's about it. But I have to say that there's some fics out there with decent Kairi characterization. Shame they didn't bother in the games.

Why in the world do I have to like her again?

And this makes me want to work on one of my old fics—the one where she gets a personality.

(I seem to recall both of them slept with other people and are semi-officially soulmates and above all that sort of thing, so I don't see the OTP problem... Besides, Ares is hot. [fans herself])

Personally I'm rather indifferent towards her. She's a good friend to the others most of the time, and they like her, but she's not exactly an active character in the story; all the emotional development is between Sora and Riku. If she'd been less static, she'd have been more interesting.

141: That's ignoring the influence of the history of homosexual couples in fiction, and the general view of homosexuality that is still dominant, though.

155: Ah, Cloud. He was my hero, and I adored and admired him so much (still do, really). I wasn't to happy with his portrayal in fanfic, I can tell you that! My friends just smile indulgently when I express my feelings for him. XD

158: Yeah, I agree, sort of. Tolkien built a better world (or at least a more detailed world), but Rowling owns him in the character department.

I happened to have some papers on my hand when I watched that ending. Before I knew it I had written a mini essay on that paper on how Lulu was DOIN' IT WRONG, and that he essentially died for nothing and the damn world would be at it again before you could say 'plot device'.

And I like that ending.

I'm not sure who posted this...but get a life. Its nice if you like our cosplays but being a "fan" can only go so far...you don't know me at all and I don't care who you are, but there isn't a girl in the world that I'd rather be with than Malinda, and that's not going to change. Better get used to dissapointment :P
