The real problem with the notorious epilogue, I think, is not the (admittedly terrible) names - it's that JK spent 7 books showing us that the wizarding world was a mess, hidebound and insular and selfish, and the epilogue shows us that the protagonists have grown up and... Done nothing at all to change that.
Malfoys and Weasleys still hate each other, Harry's apparently never told his kids about Slytherin war heroes, and Ron's out giving muggles brain damage and isn't that jolly?

There's going to be another Voldemort or Grindelwald in 40-50 years, and everyone's going to gasp and cry 'How could this happen?' like it's some great mystery.

I never participate in fandoms of series that I unconditionally love.

The fandoms I play in (Harry Potter and Naruto, to name two) are always ones where I enjoy the premise but always leave me feeling like the execution is lacking.

I just like fixer-uppers, I guess?

I just watched Infinity War for the first time and maybe it's cause I basically knew everything that was going to happen, but I thought it was... bad? I even liked Age of Ultron better.

I am not ashamed that I absolutely adore the Descendants Disney TV movies, even though they're hella ridiculous, but I felt a little weird watching #3 and the song between Hades and Mal that is very literally "you're a terrible dad", and the tension between them is... um... not father/daughterey (to me).

So I am just pretending to believe they're not really father and daughter because while sibling incest doesn't bother me, anything with a distinct power imbalance does.

I was sad when I learned that Nina Paley, an animator whose work I like, is a TERF (by which I mean, she literally has 'TERF-y' in her blog bio). But when I saw she had a huge blog post about how trans women are actually men who are "colonizing" women's spaces, I had to laugh - Paley's most famous work is 'Sita Sings the Blues', which is her using the story of Rama and Sita from the Ramayana to bring some color to the real-life story of her breakup.
So if we're going to talk about colonialism...

I think the ending of the last season of The Magicians hit me worse than the Game of Thrones finale did despite following the latter since its inception and the former for just half a year or so. The GoT finale was just plain bad, but somehow The Magicians felt more personal? I felt so hurt (and insulted) by it and maybe that prepared and numbed me for GoT?

I love spoilers. I love going into something knowing the entire plot. That way I can take in all the visuals and look for all the little details. I hate surprises in real life too, honestly. It doesn't ruin my enjoyment. I get that it does for most people. But it drives me crazy that people insist that it ruins it for everyone. Not everyone is the same. Some of us like spoilers, and that is okay.

I was scared Spiderman: Far From Home recast Tobey Miguire (the original Spiderman) as a main character, before I realized I've getting Tobey and Jake Gyllenhaal confused for the last ten years.

whenever i've had a non-canon ship, every time i've seen the other shippers go on and on about how hateful/awful/terrible the canon-LI is i've always wondered what canon they're watching bc the canon-LI is never anywhere near as terrible as fandom makes them out to be. and in all honestly most of the time i end up really liking the canon-LI, and sometimes even jump-ship to the canon one bc i like it or i get fed up of the bitter fellow-shippers determined to make something that's perfectly fine seem like satan incarnate.

Sometimes I feel kind of alone in the Leverage fandom because I ship Parker/Hardison but not Parker/Hardison/Eliot, which is the most popular ship in the fandom and which all of my friends in the fandom gush about all the time. It's not that I dislike Eliot or OT3s in general, it's just I see Eliot as more of a "grumpy but not-so-secretly adoring big brother figure" towards Parker and Hardison, and the idea of him being in a relationship with them just kind of squicks me out a little bit.

I haven't said anything about this to my friends because I'm a firm believer in Ship and Let Ship, and anyway I don't want to spoil anyone's fun. I just feel a little left out, that's all.

I violently hated Kirk's line at Spock's funeral in WoK about Spock's soul being the most human he'd ever encountered. It just seemed to make light of everything Spock had spent his lifetime struggling with regarding his dual heritage, and to have that be his eulogy actually did upset me.

I really don't understand why Bakugou from BNHA is so popular. He's an asshole and he doesn't even really have much of a reason for being one? His family seems perfectly loving, he doesn't seem to have experienced any trauma and other kids thought he was cool. I want to see what other people do in him but I just find him obnxious.

Also as far as BNHA goes, I think the big arcs are great and fun to read but the moment it gets into traditional shounen filler bullshit training or tournament or mock battle arcs I lose all interest and fall behind.

I think the SU movie put in a lot of foreshadowing about how Spinel was an unreliable narrator when it came to how magical and happy life in the garden was before Pink Diamond screwed her over, and I think it's a shame that the show will never address it and we'll probably never have any in depth interaction with Spinel again. Most of SU fandom has jumped on the "Then, everything changed when Pink Diamond attacked" train, so I'll just hang out here in the anonymous shadows.

I watched the original (american) version of Godzilla for the first time, and I feel so bad for Godzilla. The poor buddy was woken up from his nap, and get's attack just for walking around some. Its not his fault he's so destructive! (I know he's a metaphor for the nuclear bombs, but still!)

BS!: I was also shocked to find out the 'American' version added the white guy to the original Japanese movie by using body doubles of the original actors to make 'new' scenes and adapted scenes, framing him as the hero. I wasn't surprised at all to hear the removed most of all the nuclear references.

I randomly got into Chuck during my free trial of Amazon Prime, and I'm really sorry that I missed the window for whatever fandom this show may have had. I hope if anyone ever made a Chuck drinking game, you had to take a drink every time Sarah lost her gun during a fight.
