I'm definitely sorry they had to find out this way, but man, I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a tiny little bit of schadenfreude over it, considering how much people told old Trek fans to sit down and shut up. Still, though. I'm sorry, Star Wars fans, and as much as I wish JJ would just stop making movies forever, the unfortunate reality is that his style appeals to the masses, and the masses have money.

I saw it and I loved the hell out of it, and not even ironically (...mostly). Most of the problems people have with the film were problems that had the critics panning the show fourty years ago, and as far as musical adaptations go, it's far from the worst one out there.
