It's a tricky situation, and I'm not sure that it's something you can really solve just by phrasing it better if it really is the case (as it comes across in the secret) that you think he's sexy and love him, but in a basically different way from the kind of attraction you have to thicc manly bodies. And I don't even know if it's unreasonable for him to be insecure about that.

Did you get into Potter when you were a kid? Because if you did, Nonnie, I'm not sure there's much hope there. You get more excited over things when you're a kid, it's easier for things to impress you because you haven't seen the same tropes over and over, and even when you're grown and looking back on childhood media, the soft glow of nostalgia makes old fandoms look a lot more appealing than the things coming out now. That's just how it goes.
