I ship Rachael Ray with Anne Burrell from Worst Cooks in America. Bonus Secret! The show was way better without Bobbly Flay.

I know Naomi Novik’s Uprooted was at least partly inspired by Belle/Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon a Time, and I love the book for what it is, but seeing as Naomi Novik is also Astolat, part of me wishes she’d just (or also) published Rumbelle fic to Ao3, and I also wonder what fics from the fandom, if any, she read.

I normally get quite irked when people compare bad books to fanfiction in terms of quality - as in, "this book reads like a fanfic". It rubs me up the wrong way, even if they qualify they mean bad fanfic, because even the worst books I've read don't usually give me that vibe - professionally bad as opposed to fandom bad, if you like.

With that said, Forbidden by Tabitha Suzama reads like bad fanfic.

The prevailing sentiment in young!character/much-older!character fandoms seems to be, “I would never condone this IRL, but in fiction it’s fine.” Even people who are into the darkest, dead dove, parent/young-child incest stuff that I wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole tend to adhere to this sentiment.

But honestly? If it’s not statutory rape, and the relationship itself isn’t abusive or toxic, I don’t care about real life age differences.

I don’t think an 18/30+ relationship is inherently abusive or toxic, even in real life. I think it’s probably a high-risk situation for the 18yo, and I’d be concerned for them, but it’s their choice and I condone their right to make it.

So depending on exactly how it’s portrayed, yes, I theoretically would condone a young!character/much-older!character relationship in real life.

The thing the I’m most looking forth with the ffVII remake is the wave of new fanfics, I hope specifically for more valentine/cid fanfics.

I care way too much in the history/lore of fighting games ( like street fighter, mortal kombat, king of fighters and tekken). I know that I’m doing it wrong, because people do not play these type of games for the plot but I’m just too invested on those characters.

i don't really have top/bottom preferences with my ships, it's all porn so who cares? but i am really picky about how the characters are portrayed and i hate it when people just slap the overused and lazy 'top is a manly man, bottom is a weepy girl in a man's body man' fandom dynamic onto a pair of characters when it doesn't fit at all.

would it kill people to actually try writing the characters as they are and not warp them so badly they might as well be OC's who happen to have the same names?

All during Knives Out, I kept watching Chris Evans's lips. I don't know what they were doing makeup wise, but they popped out of the screen as very kissable.
