I bought Head and Shoulders shampoo recently and now every time I use it, I get that stupid 'head and shoulders, knees and toes' song stuck in my head.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-03 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Try to exorcise it by doing the dance in the shower!

(Anonymous) 2020-05-03 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It's good stuff - and hey, stretching is good for you (just please don't slip in the shower)

(Anonymous) 2020-05-03 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn! Now it's suck in my head!

either Tubthumping or the Addams Family song will replace any earworm.

Hey, it's your irregular fitness-in-lockdown thread!

Ahoy, Tabata anon here - how's everyone doing? Keeping up/adjusting old routines? Starting something new? Got a groove going?

Weirdly, though I've never worked out before in my life, keeping up with the new routine is the ONE thing I can consistently get done. Keep up with email? Nah. keep track of what day it is and which online meetings I have? Difficult. But exercize? All I need is the music going and the nice voice counting me in and BAM, good to go. Find at this point I'm even anjoying it. And I fit into some previously too tight pants, so wahey!

Whoa, that's so cool! I'm proud of you! :D

Someone on here linked HASFit a while ago and I started to do their beginner's course. I've only been at it for a week, but it's going well so far. No one is more surprised than me. I do not like sports. I'm not sure if the beginner's course is enough to make me lose notable weight, and I don't have a scale here, but I'm sure it does me good anyway, and I get a lot of mileage out of feeling like someone who has their shit together and works out. :P

Well done anon! Sticking to any kind of exercise routine is the hardest part imo but then it eventually just becomes routine and you're golden.

I've upped my running to trying to stick to 30 minutes 2-3 times a week but I've also added an indoor HIIT workout. I did a lot of walking anyway but there's so much where lockdown has taken out a few hundred of my steps per day. Even simple things like walking down to my car and walking up and down the corridor in my office building.

I'm the sort of person who (mostly) absolutely hates exercising while I'm doing it but I definitely get the runner's high afterward and forget all the hate.

I just googled it, and it sounds interesting! Do you use an app? What kind of exercises do you do?

Myself and three co-workers have decided to 'tag' each other via text each day for this hiit thing. Apparently getting called out does wonders for my accountability lol.

I'm doing okay on keeping up my one good habit - ten thousand steps a day - apart from one day this week where my knee was giving me trouble and I'm not fool enough to walk on a joint that feels bad. I've also lost a decent amount of weight this year, and I want very much to lose more, but I don't think this is a good time to try changing my diet or anything serious like that.

I actually have a fitness question. Does anyone here know any beginner fitness youtubers or tutorials or such (that aren’t focused on weight loss, please)? I haven’t been able to exercise much in ages for medical reasons and want to get back into it gently, lol. I’m looking for really basic and fun stuff if anyone has recs or tips of your own!

A/B/O essay?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-03 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
So, I'm looking for a thing - it was on AO3. It was like this several-chapter written out essay/pseudo-scientific exposé of how A/B/O dynamics would work - I think it even had a graphs of genotypes/fenotypes. Please?

This one?

A quick search told me there are several of these on AO3.

My biggest problem with A/B/O is the letters. I mean, that's an omicron. /pedantic anon is pedantic.

I thought I read this one a few years ago, but now that I have it open, it's longer than I remembered. But! Maybe this is it anyway - take a look.

Do you mean Alphas, Betas, Omegas: A Primer by norabombay?

It has a lot kudos, a table, term definitions, and there were charts (but they were on tinypic).

What is your oldest would-still-go-to ship - even if you are no longer in that fandom?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-03 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Watanuki x Doumeki from xxxHolic and Kakashi x Gai from Naruto.

Related to secret 8, do you read self published books?

Do you need to watch the original Penny Dreadful show to understand City of Angels?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-04 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure if anyone'll see this since it's a weird time, but I tried googling and couldn't find the answer.

I keep seeing ads and seeing random comments online about the new show, and I don't think you need to watch the original to get the new one since from what I can tell it seems to be a completely different story, but I'm not sure.

Is there anyone here who's seen both and can tell me? Thanks!
